Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Return to Office

Will return to office be the cudgel Target uses to cull its workforce before they resort to layoffs?

I'm sure many will leave. I'm sure anyone who doesn't leave will be less productive. It would be great if people all collectively did not show up for the mandate. And didn't support the economy in Minneapolis. Bring your coffee and lunch from home.

@jf

Someone mentioned this in our team survey discussion: just let us do our 12 zoom calls a day in peace, no more stupid icebreakers.

Our L7 seemed to agree, which makes me think this madness is mandated from on high for reasons unknowable.

There is no work being done on office days. Everyone comes in late and leaves early. “Leaders”, and I use therm laughingly, fill up calendars with “connects”. Those who advocate back to work are typically the Department su-kknobs.

What is the big problem with return to work? Everybody kicks and screams even about hybrid.
Return to work is synonymous with it is time to start working again. Gravy train is at the station and disembarking. Good grief people, a couple days at the office won't ki-l you, your legs will thank you for moving them.

What a clown show. You are an employee, you are hired to do a job. Quit whining

@b3 what positions are at the old Phoenix office?

A lot of people at the old Phoenix office are departing because the other areas of the company are ordering workers to move to MN or quit.

Its inevitable. Company is not doing well and the tariffs haven’t even set in yet.

Yeah, most likely. I know a guy who was remote and just quit even though his team hasn't had a formal RTO order yet. Sees the writing on the wall, and very limited movement opportunities being remote.
