Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Was anyone laid off because we ranked 567?

Did anyone lose their job because we ranked so low on Forbes list?

No. The C suite isn't market based culture. Just the rank and file.

Guaranteed fact.

@dd who would strive for 566? You’re a fu--ing id--t. How about top 5 or top 10. Notice anything about those companies??? They don’t RTO. It’s really that simple.

Mo--ns walk among us. OP is a special kind of dimwit, repeating 567 endlessly. To do so suggests you believe life would be great if the rating was 566. OP, it's stuck in YOUR head. No one else cares. It means nothing. Get some help.

Be careful what you wish for; the layoffs are near. Economy is getting bad, but it will get worse.

@ay Desks and parking are not assigned here, but I've never seen fewer than about 50 open parking spots, and there are always 10-15 open desks on our floor in the area where I usually choose to sit. I was told there are about 40-50 open desks on this floor Mon-Wed and many more on Thurs and Friday.

"The fact that T won't even give an employees an assigned desk that they can reliably have available every day, says wonders about how much they value individuals here."

Not cost effective given the amount of employees out on any given day for PTO. T can't afford dedicated desks.

Maybe they don’t care, but they should. How else do they plan to attract new talent? I thought we wanted to get younger? Nobody young wants #567/600 culture or 5x RTO. This is what happens when your C suite looks like Granny’s retirement home. They are so old and far removed from the workers that they are totally out of touch with what attracts talent. Instead we bring back 1969! We’re doomed!

Unfortunately ATT doesn’t care
About employees in the sense that you’re thinking about. Their attitude is that they hope you only stay employed for no more than 1 year.

They don’t need a reason to lay people off, they’re already doing it to compensate for bad decisions and poor leadership. They could give a rip how we ranked, they want us to be miserable so they can push out the higher payscale long-term workers and grab some cheap foreign or grad labor.

You mean Head of HR? They would be the organization that dropped the ball, when it comes to employee engagement and employee retention.
