The company knows where you work without badging in/out. That's the least of your worries. You are being tracked by your VPN usage and have been for a couple of years. Many areas also have software installed that show active/non active keystrokes, all websites visited, etc.

Its not all locations by year end. Its about 15 or so they are adding by year end and looks like they are going by size . Besides the ones that are already there at the really large pulsepoints. Search 2025 exit reader installation on pulse for the listing.

@az your boss should then change you in workday to virtual. By the way your boss does not have the authority to say dont worry about it. If you really are hybrid your not going into the office is being tracked and will eventually lead to disciplinary action. Like I said if you really arent required to go in your boss
needs to change you to virtual. Otherwise I would be worried this eventually catches up to you. Your boss
will not protect you if that happens.

@ab I wonder if they'll be smart enough to account for people having a dozen badge outs a day before their final one, or if, as with UTOs, they'll force managers to constantly review and analyze and dismiss warnings generated in the reporting.

Doubt it.

My old office had the turnstile doors and yes it was a hassle during fire drills. But they did have a door for wheelchair access that was also used for emergencies. And we had to swipe our badges going out and coming back in. And in all the years at that office I never heard managers force an 8 hour day to salaried employees. Hourly employees yes. So I am hopeful pnce this starts at other locations its the same.

@a9 You don't have overhead cameras in your PulsePoint yet? There are cameras in the ceiling all over our location. Have a need to scratch or adjust your undies? Go hide low in a bathroom stall.... And just an FYI, they have been tracking your laptop keystrokes and mouse clicks for years already.

I'm supposed to go to the office one a week but I haven't been to one in months. No one said anything. Hopefully the same policy continues. Who wants to enforce a BS policy. None of my coworkers is at my location so there is limited benefit.

@aa The thing to remember with the "enforcement " of RTO is this: it is 100% up to your manager to enforce.

Not to worry - There is at least one VP so deep in the weeds that person runs their own report, listens to calls, reads notes etc and then contacts the director (who is on endless PTO and has been for 2 yrs and doesn't have to go into the office - nor does the VP) and expects the director to ride the behind of the manager to get the minions in line. Your manager will enforce it, or face the music - this place LOVES MICROMANAGEMENT and CONTROL. Remember you are lazy and cannot be trusted - this is for your own good

The thing to remember with the "enforcement " of RTO is this: it is 100% up to your manager to enforce. There is a report that goes to leaders and gets cascaded down to managers. The manager has to enforce the rules on any "rule breakers" or allow any exceptions.
I will be curious to see if these new badge out readers come with a stronger mandate to managers regarding enforcement.

I love that we have to badge in and out, but management has unlimited PTO, which they take FULL advantage of - our group, at least one manager is gone for 3-5 days in a row every month.

Out of curiosity, for locations that already have badge readers, was there repercussions from it other than monitoring for safety? Like did anyone get fired for not spending the entire 8 hours there, coming in late, or leaving early because heaven forbid we need to have some kind of work life balance.

Now that the “punch card” is back, I suspect cameras will be next. It’ll be for “our safety”, but have a side benefit of being able to see how many breaks you take.
