I think that pretty much everyone knew as soon as Dan was named CEO that layoffs would occur more frequently. This is the same playbook used at PayPal. Very soon everyone will see a CEO having the company perform based on his metrics for a bonus rather than what may be the best for the company. This guy talks about competition. TM started eating VZ's lunch during ~2017 and has not stopped. The competition did not just start.
@c6 we have a teammate that was given the news as soon as they returned from leave. It didn't work. Just postponed the inevitable.

unfortunately the title of this post should be "10,000 more OUTGOING." All the money that should have went towards keeping our network factually speaking "the best network" went to the 80 million dollar a year BOD. And even when they're canned they still siphon more $$ with golden parachutes! Life is good for some people. The rest of us, not so much.

Previous layoff impacted 90% of young talented individuals in Verizon India. While senior went untouched.
May 7th will have alot of calendar invites. There have been several people on my team that scheduled prolonged medical procedures to keep from being on the list. They swear it works every time.
Our CEO said layoffs are a "way of live at Verizon"! You can put your head in the sand all you want but Dan is telling you what the official policy of Verizon is, he said it - LAYOFFS. So please... check yourself again what Dan is saying publicly and maybe you will understand why people are on edge at Verizon 7 days a week. It's not people here saying layoffs, it is DAN... later!

Depends on how you are counting. If you include the people being re-badged and sold with the VZ Connect stuff, plus the SOW reduction, plus the RIF... maybe 10k. But the RIF itself will be smaller.

@a8 Lake Mary is next. AVPs, SDs, Ds, and ADs on the chopping block. Accounting, FPA, Audit, Payroll, Commissions to be moved/outsourced/downsized. Even the AVPs aren’t aware

Do you think the hundreds/thousands impacted by the closing of the large facilities by May 29 - who were told to work from home after gathering all personal items - are ALL going to be working still after May 29th?
