Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Work is "100X AI" so I used UHG CoPilot to Grade my Comp: it told me to quit

Legit said the pay was under market, that the raises I am stating are "best case" are far below market for role, and that nominal cash bonuses with zero equity upside mean: "we aren't paying to keep you or grow you."

This was the UHG CoPilot, not some outside source. Our leaders told us to use AI for professional development and job work, and wow! LOL

@ay My guess is that you are severely underpaid but you have been successfully conditioned to accept scraps so you don't know any better. When you find out that your peers are paid way more you will understand these responses.

@ay Nice toxic management message - it's not OUR fault. It MUST be yours. Here's some greatest hits that y'all may have heard:

  • YOU are not working hard enough.
  • Well, no one complained, so this must be YOUR fault.
  • Want a job onshore? Take this paltry handout. Try and negotiate for more? Sorry, we can get 2 Indians or Filipinos for that price.
  • You don't believe our "leadership's" mental gymnastics telling you that we're great but you're not getting more than a 1% raise? Oh, that sounds like a YOU problem. YOU should be grateful for what WE give YOU.

@OP Love this! I used CoPilot to redo my resume for an internal job and didn’t get me anywhere. Maybe if I submitted something on a napkin it might have worked!

Not a leadership failure at all. It's an employee failure. You are accepting the lower salary and benefits. Sorry but your compensation isn't their fault.

It's your employee mindset.

Definitely a leadership failure. 1% raises and reduction in 401k contributions with many employees doing the work of 4 people and the leadership knows it. If leadership doesn't care than don't expect the employees to care. It's become a complete sweatshop.
