Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Anyone here work/worked for Vanguard/Fidelity?

How does the culture/pay/benefits compare with TIAA? Is it easier ti transition to one of these companies being a TIAA employee?
Specifically in tech

Vanguard was/is a great company to work for. I spent 5+ years there 10+ years ago.

Their pay use to lag (why I switched to TIAA). But that has changed over the last few years.

I’ve considered going back. Vanguard is hybrid (3 days a week).

@ay there are two favorite sayings we have in our dept. 1. Schit blows downwind & 2. Shit flows downhill.

@av Pshhht. Like windows patches will have any major impact on your computing experience. Maybe focus on the horrible apps TIAA develops for internal use that fail when the wind changes direction.

All of those questions could be answered on this layoff site or better yet on Glassdoor. Both are ranked higher than TIAA but I doubt you will get a >20% VC anywhere but here. Being in Tech you are also probably getting a higher salary than either of them.

But they definitely have better technology and systems than TIAA does. But it’s not hard to beat our 30 year old systems. Took forever to update Windows at TIAA but we’re still 3 almost 4 versions/patches behind in W11…
