Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Oil is Dead

Sorry to say, well drilling gas virtually stopped and jobs are gone. We are in a recession! Cheap Gas isn’t good for oil companies

Expect a lot more layoffs soon. Hearing tons on the street. It will recover in time like it always does, but prepare for some rough years ahead

@cr, everything in IT is bad because of the pi-s poor management out of Houston and their terrible abilities to make good decisions.

Airports and Military bases still need GAS and Diesel - They are building GAS pipelines from Texas to Arizona? and Nevada ? but that might still be 4 or 5 years...WHAT will fill the VOID ?

Refinery employee should get paid more than midstream. Midstream engineers have no technical expertise while refinery engineers we are dealing with complex technical problems. In midstream, they have a pump and apiece of pipe. Should outsource all senior tank project managers, what do they do?

Oil dead?! 😂. Hardly.

That is what Zh@nn@ wanted us to believe a few years ago. Where is she now? She has plenty of time to think over your post.

Folks, the job market is getting better and now is the time to make plans. Once VCIP hits really think about who it is you work for.

Do actions match the words?

Can you trust the person you are working for?

Are you working for people that you aspire to become?

Will your boss fall on the grenade for you?

Money is great — we do pay really well — but are the compromises worth it?

Our culture is dying. It was happening before Greg left but has accelerated in recent years. You are a number and are disposable. Take care of yourself and your family first.

Phillips 66 demands you take the interests of the company first and will absolutely prioritize the company ahead of you.

Is this what you want for the next 5-20 years?

I have no idea why IT is still an asset. Every major project is a disaster.
You could cut 50% and no one would notice!
Mark if your reading this take a good look at IT !!!!!!

@b0 Sad but true. While L&D should be the first to get cut, they'd probably come out of any layoffs with an increase in headcount. The failure of that group is epic.

Sell it cheap and go, go, go! Ask not what your country can do for you. But, what you can do for your country!

Yeah, they’ll cut operations and beef up the headcount at HQ L and D.

@af this makes sense as I saw senior BCG leaders in the building this week and they were the ones that led the efforts at COP and were also the ones to lead WEP two years ago.

If they cut they will do it in operations and not touch HR and IT. That is how we operate now.
