2024: 99,600 employees, a 5.5% decrease from 2023
2023: 105,400 employees, a 9.99% decrease from 2022
2022: 117,100 employees, a 1.1% decrease from 2021
2021: 118,400 employees, a 10.44% decrease from 2020
2020: 132,200 employees, a 2.07% decrease from 2019
2019: 135,000 employees
2018: 144,500 employees
2017: 155,400 employees
2016: 160,900 employees
2015: 177,700 employees

The decline in employees is part of Verizon's restructuring efforts under new CEO Dan Schulman, aiming to reduce costs and improve competitiveness in the telecommunications market ¹ ² ³.

Should also include H1B fired each year.... You'll see if we're also being replaced.

I'm pretty sure whoever gets fired was DEI anyway so shouldn't be that much of a big deal

Smart people will encourage their friends and fam 2 only vote for politicians against outsourcing and H-1b visas

@ax Tmob or ATT would never be allowed to acquire VZW. Amazon, Google, or some other tech company with deep, deep pockets…

@OP Remember Lucent Technologies. It no longer exists. Same will happen to Verizon. I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon was broken up and swallowed (bought) by AT&T and T-mobile.

You should add the numbers of employees Verizon hired overseas every year to understand the full picture.

Keep laying off employees in the US and hire overseas.

Call your house representatives and senators, support the HIRE act 2025 to help yourself keeping your job and not going through this at Verizon or anywhere else in the US.
