Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Say no

Now comes the part where we are expected to "be team players" and take on more work to cover for those who were laid off. I'm done with it. I'm refusing. Everybody should consider doing the same.

Oracle isn’t like every other tech. Oracle is run by sc*mbags. Pathetic human beings.

"Sounds to me like you just are not cut out to work in tech."

By the time the cuts are done, this will be much more than tech!

The op does not literally mean say no, they mean to start not putting in extra effort, maybe get a second job, et al.

Because even if you try hard and deliver results they'll still lay you off, so let's unionize

Sounds to me like you just are not cut out to work in tech. Why did you think it would be different than this?

If you blatantly refuse, perhaps. You have to finesse it a little.

"Sure thing, glad to help with that" and kinda get started but don't do very much. Have some excuses ready if asked (I need some information from Jim and we haven't been able to connect).

After a while, backburner other tasks to make progress on this one. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

They will let you go with cause, and no severance.
