During town halls and public events, they tell us countless personal stories, none of which we give a cr-p about. Yet when it comes to matters that are vitally important to our livelihoods, they're completely silent. They keep us in the dark for weeks, months, even years. Talk about being out of touch.

Yes. You voted for them after all do you even listen to yourself democrat? Hahahahaha!
I wish it had been MW and MG at that Coldplay concert. It’d make chevron much more interesting today. zzzzzzzzz
@ax was RB at a Coldplay concert???
The self disclosure is very insensitive to the reality of life the employees have experienced. They may be coached so they can “connect” with the little people. But when these people take care free vacations to exotic places I do not connect either them. We can cancelled our summer vacation in case I was laid off and we are reluctant to plan a vacation for next year because I am still in shock with the risk of my job moving to India in 2026. There was no mention of no reorg / layoff in 2026 do I believe the IT LT did not connect with what the remaining employees are concerned about.
They have been coached to be "venerable". A highlight paid consultant told them to builds trust
OK, but why do I need to listen to & give a fu-k about RB’s marital problems and going to therapy with his wife. I mean, wtf?
Totally awesome observation. Overshare unimportant information and gaslight the stuff that you actually care about. I think this resonates with other "oversharers" and not with "doers." Not sure this is the message that management wants.
Can confirm they're coached to do this. Plus it fills dead air during the 1.5 hr town halls in which they have no new relevant info to share.
It’s called Self-Disclosure. It’s one of Brené Brown’s “authentic leadership” tactic. I’m no where near c-suite but I image they get coached to do this
