@ed you have got to be one of “those” people. People should be seeking legal guidance because Nike is corrupt. We have leaders sleeping with other leaders and secrets that start at the top. Let it stop now and hire an attorney. Nike is becoming irrelevant and one exposure is all that it takes. Don’t listen to this a$&hat who probably works in legal. Find a good attorney and use other means to protect yourself. Nike doesn’t care.

@op - for what? Just to waste your money to talk to someone of what happened at Nike for you? You are already do it here...if you still not convinced, just anyway to do the attorney thing..I have a better idea...go to your bank, may be, get 10 grand or hmmm...may be, 20 grand, all 1 s, and then just fly all the 1s...driving around Portland downtown after 9 PM ...you help yourself and as well, help the folks roaming there....

@aw no, you get it all wrong. Every employee should educate themselves on their rights. A job is a transaction; you get paid for your services, and then you go home to your private life. Your co-workers are not your friends, as in times of layoffs, they will throw you under the bus to save their own jobs. Your boss is not your friend; he is there to get the most out of you, and if you are not educated on your rights, he might take advantage of you. Your employer documents you as this is what they do, you should also document them too. Remember, your job is just a transaction. Anything illegal, your employer would fire you, and so should you. That's it. Simple as that. And yes, Nike has not gained my trust at all.

@a6 +2 on bait. They mistake intelligence for ignorance. Anyone that would actually name their attorney would be silly.

@ak hahahaha! There you have it. A toxic culture where nobody is trusted. Nailed it! To employees on guard who don’t trust their leaders or co workers, end every meeting with an email that recaps the meeting and send it by email. Then print a copy for yourself. They be trying to hide the truth and twist the truth in their form of “documentation.” Nike will protect Nike but the lawyers find the truth. So if you are being honest you have nothing to fear (as long as you can prove it in your documentation). Start with BOLI and EEOC depending on what it is.

You can call the Oregon State Bar and get a recommendation. And there is nothing to hide; every employee should document everything, as the employer is also documenting you. It's just as straightforward as that. And by law, anything illegal should be reported.

Nike may be a big company but if you have enough evidence to provide that what they have done violates your rights, their value doesn’t matter. Stand up for what is right - even when it’s hard.

I think we will see a lot more employees come out before long. People are fed up.

@OP I’m here with you! Start with filling through EEOC and BOLI! Don’t wait!! Make sure you have documented everything. I won’t share a name here because this partially seems like bait. That’s how HR runs.
