Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Plano

The Plano campus looks like it will be great. But like everything AT&T does, it’s already behind schedule and over-budget. Rising oil, mid-terms, and potential interest rate increases won’t help. Not to mention the 1/4 Trillion they just committed to over the same timeline. I thought we still carry a huge debt load?

And if you are Rule of 75, or will be by 2029, the likelihood you ever step foot in the new buildings as an active employee is almost zero. Stash your cash! Don’t count on 6 month severance either.

Then again, with current under-30 age employees realizing what they signed up for and are fleeing after a short 1-2 year cup-of-coffee, I can’t imagine many of the current employees will see it either.

Plano equals another discovery zone failure. It happens when you have corrupt generalist management with no skills playing with other people’s money.

I keep hearing how "contractors" are turning down offers because of the 5 day in office requirement. No way to verify that but I've heard it from L3-L4 so assuming there must be some truth to it. Meanwhile don't let your daily slip below eight hors or you're going to be on the next surplus list.

@aw Don't worry. In a short time (maybe a year or two) when AI takes over many many jobs, people will think going to the office 5 days a week is great cause they have a job to go to and get paid. Let's see who complains in a few years about having to go into the office (even 7 days a week). Their neighbors will be jealous cause they have a job.
Human jobs are at a decline if you haven't noticed.

It doesn’t matter what you put in that office, golf tennis kayaking you name it. The next generation wants nothing to do with being chained to an office to take teams calls. Just another way stank has proven how out of touch he is with reality and the needs of the modern workforce. Just yet another way he will flush billions down the drain.

Maybe do something useful for once baldo and I don’t know… listen to the feedback your employees give you in the survey… gasp…He’s a fu--ing id--t and there will be cheers and celebrations on the day he finally retires.

Will space be available to rent out at the Plano campus? I would like to hold my funeral there.

Plano campus was an outdated white elephant before the PowerPoints were done. Would have been cool 20 years ago. Instead of wasting billions on fancier places for people to sit at desks on Teams calls, they could have invested in just about anything else while demonstrating the value of you know, the connectivity tools we sell.

But that’s Stankey and friends, always finding new ways to flush money down the toilet.
