Anyone hear what’s happening on the East Coast? Anyone from Newfoundland get a letter this week? My buddy hasn’t heard yet.

Reading OP post, does it mean that if you hear nothing in the first few weeks you are more likely to be on the layoff list?

@q4 there are rules about how much can be owned and by whom in Canada. Kearl has to be sold as a whole entity and the rest can parted out. What will be kept id anything, are the easiest assets to produce, with the lowest ecological, financial and reputational hurdles.

Another way to look at it is think of what this Transformation will enable in the not so distant future. Options are either sale of remaining assets or straight up merger with little overhead to deal with, maximizing Sale price. So I have to wonder if all of us who say not at this stage over time will turn out to be the lucky ones compared to those who move to Edmonton with their families to end up being sold or terminated where options in the industry are quite limited

@jm phone call, followed by email. Five (business) days to reply to offers. So, if you are going on vacation make sure you have access to work computer/phone.

Also, no consideration for dual careers ie spouse one could get an offer on the 5th and needs to make a decision before spouse 2 learns their fate.

@bq what we all need is self care. Always put yourself and family first, and the company and works last, after you finished dirty dishes and taking a dump.

What is the starting date for these so called job offers?

@aw We should count ourselves lucky that senior management didn’t unleash another cringey Christmas video. I don’t think anyone wants another ‘festive morale booster’ right before the holidays. Pointless effort given that employees will be hit with another round of stress and chaos once the so-called job offers and layoff communication roll out after the new year.

Bit of a pi-s off that if they can come out Jan 5 they can come out today, before Christmas. Why the games waiting till January...is it just so JW and the management committee can send a heartfelt holiday email?

Anyone else suspect of these "job offers". We already have to worry about having or not having a job. What the future with the company looks like. We now also have to worry about lower compensation and potentially a bad job offer? Merry Christmas
