Effective immediately, Fujifilm North American Business Innovation have reduced their U.S. based staff by several hundred. All areas of the business have been affected, except ex-pats from Japan.
Fuji's U.S. operations has been hemorrhaging for the better part of the past few years with declining sales and market pressures due to ongoing import tariffs.
Keeping the ex-pats in the U.S. protects reducing personnel in Japan and abroad.
@5ms Fuji won't buy another Japanese manufacturer. They will slowly grow and allow the others to decline. Fuji's culture is to wait out all of the first movers and established companies, then grow share by sifting through their ashes.
Fuji lacks the creativity and desire to be anything more than an iceberg.
@4g4 Unless they plan to purchase one of the other Japanese manufacturers, the market is already oversaturated for a segment that is currently in decline.
The good people left years ago but few still remain because of years of dedication & loyalty.
Graphic market going away, film was dead years ago now they divested and dealing with toners dealers.
Whoever the ex pats they send to Hanover Park are not equipped to be marketing innovators or leaders.
Randy Hurless is a joke not fit to be in position that he took over from N Johnson who bailed years ago, he was marginal also.

@4kc the lack of leadership is not limited to Randy Hurless, but the entire leadership team. The Japanese have put puppets in place to do the bidding of Japan. It's really sad...
@4g8 even domestically they can’t attract talent. That is why you have people like Randy Hurless leading such large groups, no intellect. Just willing to put in the hours and frustrate themselves for a job title they think brings them some sort of importance.
@4g4 You are so correct! Fujifilm Japan does not attract the ɓest and brightest talent ‐ they all go to more respectable tech firms like Sony, Toyòta, Nikon, etc.
I am surprised by the arrogance of the Fujifilm Japanese leadership. I would never think I could walk into Japan with no market experience and believe I would be successful, yet there is this silliness that comes with the Fuji Japanese that the American market will just come and eat what Fuji is serving.

Few qualified leaders - only bullies promoting divisive rhetoric and self-serving actions. Near inhumane working conditions with limited resources and below industry average compensation. More loud talking and less getting stuff done at all levels of the company.

Nobody needs to develop 35mm film. Surprised still a thing. Ask Kodak for their advice if you can find anyone
