Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Anyone apart of MCBU heard anything early?

I know official details come out the week of June 16th, but has anyone gotten new info already? It blows my mind that meetings weren't required to happen last week and that there's a 3 week gap between when jobs closed to when people are supposed to be notified.

That whole 24 hour operation is just a myth they use to scare new workers

@dk then head on out there and work. Keep your phone on you, and be ready to be on call 24/7. You’re supporting a 24 hour operation and they don’t care that it’s your 9/80, or your Sunday afternoon, or 3am on your kids birthday, your job is to to keep it running, because if it isn’t running, someone’s life could be at risk and money is getting left on the table.

@aw yup. Suddenly all the people who couldn’t be bothered to make field visits want to be field-facing employees. The same people who for years will outright tell you, “I don’t want to be in the field I’m on a management track.” No doubt they have over-inflated their 3x a year visits to “extensive field experience as an advisor leading from the front.” Get ready to see everything that we, who chose to be in the field, built fall completely apart.

We are better than the rancid Indians!

I'd rather have the Canadians than the Indians, Africans and South Americans. At least they have education standards like we do in the US unlike the third world countries we keep importing from. Your jobs are going to India, fu--ing India, and you Yankees are worried about Canadians.

Canadians seem to love to talk a lot, while delivering nothing.
CBU was a good riddance

Canadian expats keeping their jobs while local US employees get laid off in the Permian. None of them are all that special plus expensive with expat benefits. Makes no sense in a downsizing event. Optics are not good in the local community.
