@ae I think premiere week for CBS ends the last week of October? so if we keep to way the company has been doing things in the past, then Tuesday October 28th is D day? What does everyone think? Either that or Tuesday Nov 4th if the articles are correct and they are November.
@a6 That was my thought when I read "managers" had to make lists too, but within my division, even the EVP thinks he's getting axed, so they might actually have every single manager with more than two employees make their own sort of Sophie's Choice, spreading the misery around to nearly every people manager in the entire company. It seems kind of on-brand for the bro-y vibe that new leadership seems proud to embody.
anyone know if the RTO will happen before layoffs and be connected
meaning will those people be part layoffs or just a bonus for company when they quit
i know quite a few people whose circumstances have changed and may not be able to RTO five days even with no jobs out there
I wish we can sign up to volunteer to be let go! Commuting in 5 days a week is not realistic for me.
What would be most at risk do you think? News?
So, 2,000 to 3,000 cuts. 18,000 employees. The odds are actually in your favor. And most articles mention cable/linear and some obsolete/lesser known brands as the target. I’d say if you are in streaming you do have a better chance at survival based on most interviews I’ve read with new leadership.
No matter the case, it is good to know a date. The last few have arrived with far less notice.
Happy Hunger Games everyone
If my manager puts me on this ki-l list after everything I’ve done…
@av no it’s global but most will be in the US due to the volume of employees here.
@ae thank you
is this all US based jobs ? anyone know ?
Two months to find a new job!
@ag the waiting su-ks. I guess I’m glad that we have a date rather then being left completely in the dark.
ChatGPT has been fed a list and asked to find the cuts.
Wish the date was sooner, so we could just get it over with. Some departments barely exist after prior layoffs. It can’t simply be that they need to do their part and give a ki-l list unless point is just to ki-l certain teams which I’m sure is something that will happen.
@ae thanks for updates doesn't
change the outcome but nice to know when ..
Cuts will be done by October 29th. The person who asked about streaming, yes they are included. All paramount will be impacted.
At least they've shared the date range...clearly a "leaked" story by Skydance.
Exits will disparately impact personnel identified as having an "activist" predisposition. The dollar amount ($2B+ in cuts) is cited specifically to avoid litigation.
You don't have to believe it, but that is a fact and should be expectation.
Where are all the people on here that were says it “it’s definitely 9/9 after the VMAs”.
@a7 streaming is mentioned in other articles
streaming not having cuts ? not mentioned in the article ...
I'm assuming they mean "department heads" more so than "managers." At least that's how the previous administration did it. SVP and above (who were safe, that is) were given the targets.
"ki-l lists" - their quote being compiled by october ...
"epic bloodbath" November before earnings - that's first week November
If the list has to be in by October we have 5 weeks to convince our managers not to fire us. Good luck!
