MetLife gets better when you figure out who deserves an explanation, who deserves one answer, and who deserves absolutely nothing.
@atjr+1vi26tul you must be referring to the one who asks his directs to write everything for him because his grammar is so bad, he can't clearly write meaningful and logical statements to support his work? Yah... pretty sure I know who you're talking about.
How about the AVP who copies their direct report's self assessment verbatim onto their own self assessment? Next manager up then has their head in their a$$, as usual.

The family hires, a.k.a. nepotism is rampant in IT.
Mom's getting daughter's hired is a common thing.
The only thing worse are the woke harpies who can't cope with anyone who is able to think for themselves. Most work in IT/Cyber and will drop a dime to HR anytime you say anything they don't agree with. Pathetic.
All the trashy family hires
Met does not attract quality. Not a place where any person feels lucky to be associated with it. Would quit yer bit%&*'n and move on. Thank you, bye.
Met will never let go of forced ranking. Stuck in anachronistic cookie cutter nepotism crony corrupt behind the times culture AND paying so far below market they can’t attract retain top talent. Have you ever lightly researched their SVPs?
About the forced ranking -- tell me - why do they make a show of the annual review starting nominally in November, when they have probably already settled things in August?
Worse, assuming you get anything, why don't give bonuses or raises till mid-march?
What time period does the review REALLY cover?
I loathe the whole process, including the re-introduced "360" review. I assume that's courtesy of our re-hired CHRO.
Psychological warfare is having to sit right next to your manager in the office. Masochists.
Trashy trashy trash managers and leaders.
Get ready for "Forced Ranking" season at Met, because that's the way it's always been done here! God forbid ALL employees are evaluated truly on merit and accomplishments, instead of made up, on the spot shortcomings. It is totally political who receives which rating. Abhorrent. When will the recycled HR lady eliminate this antiquated and prejudiced process?
The majority of people managers, all the way up, are truly bottom of the barrel. Genuine feedback is smacking them right in the face and yet they think they are holier than thou. It's pathetic. Best to have value, self worth and a true purpose outside of this company and treat it for what it is, a paycheck.
