Can we go back to those times? I'll even take a round here and there, but this constant threat of more cuts is absolutely exhausting.

@cw yeah, we are definitely hiring and growing. And we handing out cash bonuses, sending people to conferences, ... But wait! 🤦🤦🤦

@aw 15 years ago OT was on Medicare and gave up trying to innovate. Now they are in assisted living hanging on before going into hospice. There is no fountain of youth here. Just enjoying the three meals for now while you can.
@av well said.
@at they don't have a history of doing it at-scale periodically.
@aw Not that long for me. Then again I was sold to OT by MF. Been this way for me since day 1 at OT.
It's been this way for about 15 years...
@at Most companies that are not dying handle layoffs differently. They announce, and do it quickly, with severance, and it is over.
Dying companies like OTEX are too cheap to do actual layoffs and instead te--orize with constant threats and head games with the goal of making people leave without severance either with bogus firings for cause, or just general te---r to make people quit. In both cases there is no severance or unemployment insurance, which is cheaper.
@aq meta are doing layoffs, are they a dying company ?
Talk to anyone working at a dying company, this is how things end before everything gets sold off or simply shut down.
