Has anyone heard if facilities, security, and other support groups are being riffed?

@193 I know people riffed that got severance pay instead of sub. So it isn’t every state. You find out when you are riffed if you are a sub state or they have to pay you severance. There are 2 different rif packet, one for sub and one for severance.

@18n aw7 doesn’t sound like they know what they are talking about. Basically google supplemental unemployment benefits which is what you get now in lieu of severance. Looks like almost all states support sub pay and will require you to file for unemployment to be eligible to receive sub pay from employer. If you get another job before your sub pay runs out anthem will pay 50% of remaining balance. The remaining balance doesn’t subtract what state paid you which is a good thing. Most companies are getting rid of traditional severance and switching to sub pay because they save money on taxes. Sub pay is better than nothing.

How do you find out the severance states?

@w7 what are the severance states?

@rh depends on what State you live in and how long you’ve been at the company. If you live in a sub state. You will have to apply for state unemployment. The state will then pay you their portion and you have to check in every week. Then you have to register for sub pay with ELV. They will then pay you the remainder of your pay that unemployment didn’t on typical ELV pay weeks. You also have to check in with them every week. If you get another job at ELV before your sub pay and unemployment is up, you get nothing. If you get a job outside ELV before your weeks are up, then you will receive half of your sub pay that is left in a lump sum severance. It’s better to live in a severance state because then you would just receive the severance and not have to bother with all of this cr-p. Then if you found another job you still have all of your severance money.

In 2025 haven't we had 3 Rifs already up to 6/17. And next week another one? This is a sad place to work. Been here a long time need 10 more years I will never make it. Probably get rifd next week.

I have heard that the 6/26 rifs are so big that they need to start it now so it wraps up by 6/26.

They are switching it up because SLT monitors this site and they know people are expecting the 26th. The goal, to keep all the cuts out of the news, they don't want people to coordinate which allows the media and customers to put numbers to the cuts.

What an unbelievably poor leadership team.

They really don't care about anyone in this organization at all.

@b1 the executive leadership team is probably sitting back and LOVING this! Remember, ELT, whether you believe it or not this will all bite you in the a$$ one day. Psychopaths.

This place is rotten to its core. You know it, I know it, and leadership knows it. So sorry for those that got RIF'd today. Not sure if 6/26 is still a go. Personally, I'd like to stay another 5 months or so to allow time for the job market to improve, but I know it's not up to me.

@as so sorry for you. I was riffed May 1 after being with company for ten years. I was devastated and I am still processing it. The first few days were rough. It does get better. I would recommend taking some time off.

@a3 there were 6 people in my meeting, not including director & hr. One of my other coworkers (same team) was in a different meeting 30 mins later and there was 6 people in her meeting too. And my other teammate who is on PTO get a text from our director asking to call her asap. Seems like a bloodbath to me.

GBD Claims Medicaid - Ops Analyst. Last official day is July 25th, but no longer have to log on. Will be paid as normal thru the 25th and then "severance" starts. Should be getting my separation package some time today.
