Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

So, how do we move on?

The silence says a lot. One would think that after almost 2 weeks of buzzing about this, GK would have released some sort of message to smooth things over.

There are almost 30k people who have seen the post on the Viva Engage and many have posted. It’s not just anonymous any longer, there are people using their own name and voice.

Even if our voices aren’t make a change, they should at least be acknowledged and some effort made by GK to “try again” and gather up the troops.

It’s time for a pep talk, coach, rally your troops. Your silence is so loud, it hurts.

Voluntary enhanced severance. I’d enthusiastically support that.

Here's how you move on. If you hit your job and don't like the direction that it's going go and look for a job somewhere else. Or rise to the occasion and do what is asked instead of complaining. You have control over your own life. Honestly many other jobs require you to come in five times a week. RTO is very easy and we have a better than most places. It's clear that those that are complaining about RTO are the ones that are not even doing there jobs and putting it on everyone else to pick up their slack. Gone are the days of what you identify by and pronouns but by what you produce and outcomes base performance.

This is a very interesting read and speaks volumes about how CEOs just don't care anymore.

Productivity has gone up at least 30%

This is unlikely.

She's doing great making you work and watching you have a meltdown with the whining and complaining. Productivity has gone up at least 30%.

“I Yam What I Yam”
Good to know our new CEO shares a similar personal mindset as a 1930’s cartoon sailor.

She not looking to lead the bank, she’s looking to make a deal. Nothing in her background says “imminent CEO material”. The wisest choice would be been to hire a third, fourth or fifth in the succession line to a CEO from a bulge bracket bank. We couldn’t even manage that. Instead an exec from a failing wealth management division was fast tacked into the president and then CEO roles. People outside of USB are pulling the strings here.

If GK said really said “I am who I am”, then that’s a terrible philosophy to have. I would hate to be her husband. She isn’t interested in self improvement or change. How can she lead a bank with a mindset like that?

Elfio referred to a recent conversation with G.K. during our department meeting. She said “I am who I am.” He did not go into specifics but just that phrase spoke volumes. Sure, one should take pride in one self if you’re trying to be a good person. In her case, she’s taking pride in being a butthole.

I took GK's advice today. 3 hour lunch at the bar across the street. I did make a new friend.... may have to do this more often.

People used to be able to come here to find some community and at least some validation but it's become so riddled with people being a--holes that it su-ks here now too.

GK won't do anything. She won't rally anyone and neither will anyone under her. It's a "fall in line with fake smiles" and go find a friend or something. Idk.

She doesn't care about you as a worker, your family, etc. She just cares about the stock price and her Bonus at the end of the year of prices are met.

Granted, that's practically every CEO to ever exist. She said the quiet part out loud.

There are better options than US Bank, of that sounds scary to you, believe me, you're better exploring other jobs as a CHOICE than as a necessity when youre laid off.
