Thread regarding Illumina Inc. layoffs

The nonstop RIFs seem unethical. How can employees stand against the board and ELT to fight against this abuse?

It really seems like some of you haven't had jobs or jobs with large companies before. Employees never come first. Profits come first. Survival of the business comes first. You are not entitled to a job, folks. You are employed at the pleasure of the company. Does it su-k? Sure. Is it reality? Absolutely. And before you assume, I'm not part of leadership. I have just been there, done that a few more times than you, apparently.

Form a union. Also one of these comments is not like the rest. Thelayoff is definitely being watched and commented on by executives or their staff to try shape the narrative.

Everyone could change their LinkedIn status to #opentowork. ELT has openly signaled layoffs so this would let them know their message was heard.

“leave the company” comment is reckless and narrow-minded.
