Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The relocation trap

We had a group of people who relocated last year. Picked up their families, bought houses, got settled. Then most of them were gone within six months during the last major purge. Intel didn't care. A relocation isn't protection. It's just another cost on their spreadsheet. If they need to cut, they'll cut. Your moving expenses don't factor in.

Words of wisdom right here folks (rare on this site). Don't fall for the relocation trap at Intel or any other company .

yep the G10's and above are typically "positions of trust" so that means secrets are subject to being disciplined if ever revealed..

They trapped you so they can claim mileage tax deduction on their spreadsheet from your move then later pushed you out of the bus.

@aj
Probably depends on the situation how bonuses and incentives are structured and paid out. Lots of stuff goes on behind the scenes that rank and file employees are not privy to or catch wind of after the fact.

That's how Intel rolls. You're just a pawn. Your manager might feel sympathy for your situation but under his breath he's saying better him then me. Oh and some managers get bonuses for lying to their employees about potential layoffs and stringing them along until the hammer falls. Ask me how I know.
