Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

We are all being gaslighted

So after the C suite took cash earned from ERP from 168 to 112 to fund future projects, removed raises, tanked the share price of the company impacting pay of anyone with any equity, doing constant layoffs....

The next thing we are being told is we are about to get a lesson on the Stoics? Yes, this is true. We need to compare ourselves to philosophers from 300 BC and ignore all this nonsense and see it all in a positive light. That is coming from the top.

Meanwhile all VP+ are staying in luxury accommodations this week for the leader forum. Have we learned yet that this new executive leadership team only cares about themselves and their shareholders. They’re making millions but couldn’t give raises this year. They’re forcing us back to the office because the majorly of our shareholders also hold capital and shares in commercial real estate. But let’s call it culture.

This is true. The CEO really thumped his chest to the leadership team to be stoic about the theft of AIP from employees. I am sure they may be allowed to change the agreed upon pay model after the fact through some * in the formula, but this is insane to do at this time. They also intentionally hid it from everyone after Q3 so we could not see the results. Don't worry though, they are telling us now in the spirit of transparency.

With any last ounce of trust being completely eroded, it leaves one to wonder why. Is it to keep the people from that little bit of extra financial cushion that may allow them to realize how bad everyone is being treated? Is it to hope more people leave?

I would love to know the total amount taken from employees from this manual reduction in bonuses from the published formula. It will never happen, but that would be a baseline of the opportunity attorneys could go after. Again, I am sure they have their clause they can do this, but it sure feels like a breach of agreement with the employees. At least an ethical one.

Stoic rules to live by: Instead of changing the culture they want you to put up, shut up and be "resilient" which makes their life easier. The senior leadership do not have the ability or the the intent to change the processes in place. SNP was initially very poorly set up and no one has ever done anything about it. The same applies to most H departments.
