Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Serious question?

Given all the cuts, do we really need two chief network officers (wireless and wireline)?

Seems like they created a job for someone who was complaining. Just saying.

What are your thoughts ?

Do we need middle managers and directors? How about a technical Supervisor with direct path to VP.

@aq question was do we need separate leadership overseeing the great team in this climate - I would say no.

We have a superstar network team for both segments with diverse perspectives and insights that keep us winning. I am inspired by their posts celebrating every meeting as a victory without mentioning any real accomplishments, hearing about how their kid’s baseball game inspired them to be great leaders, and about their guilt free vacations while the team left behind is buried in overlap and firedrills. Our network leadership is the best in the business!

@OP i think the deeper question why so many AVPs, Directors in those organizations . Totally abusive of budgets. The AD layers and below need to actually do the work. But easily can cut VP/Director 40%

@OP doesn’t surprise. Also brought in a CTO and haven’t see jack from him either outside of more network outages. Add up all those salaries !
