I was laid off in 2022 under ARxWP and the Sr. Director and HRBP called me directly in Teams as I was getting off another meeting. Told me my role was eliminated and I had to log off immediately. My direct leader had no idea until I was already offline and I called her cell. Hoping I don't have to relive this all over again but at least I know what to expect this time....

@aq According to the severance policy Dec 2024, it depend on your years of service. Nothing subsidized under COBRA for less than 5 years of service; 3 months subsidized for 5-15 years; and 6 months for 15+ years of service. Only Medical. No dental or vision. I think the law in Illinois is up to 18 month COBRA non-subsidized. So expensive, but perhaps still better than out in the general market health insurance.
How is medical insurance handled once you're laid off? Are you covered until the end of the month or do they cut you off immediately?
@ah Thank you. This is good intelligence. My manager has been insisting I will not be impacted by the layoffs & that my entire area will be spared. But given my unexpected drop in performance rating last round to a 2.9, I really believe I'm a goner. Have cleaned out my laptop of any personal information weeks ago. Just waiting now.
I was laid off in a previous round. I had my VP and HR in the same-day last-minute meeting others have mentioned. My manager messaged me afterwards, they have no idea until the last minute either.
This. I was part of the field restructure in 2023. I received a vague late night calendar invite with a DPR (not my own) and HRBP. The meeting time was for the next morning. I knew what was ahead and I was so relieved!
A same-day calendar invite, like 15 mins, including an HR person and your boss. Sometimes they send them a little as 30 mins before
