So usually there is a meeting by AVP or above level Mgmt announcing that they are laying off x number but this time around there is no such announcement? Also no word on the bonuses... Seems strange....

@fd I also feel bad for those who give mission moments - no doubt they were all great and genuine and inspiring experiences and many times even ultimate sacrifices, but only be used by this company as propaganda, to fool people into pouring all their life and emotions into helping execute compensations
I love watching the scripted fluff questions from the audience. Especially the ones who read from their phones.
@aq nowadays all the town halls are nothing but a scripted play, they might’ve as well prerecorded it. So it will be highly unlikely to have any honest answer, other than “but we hired x number of people last year and y number so far this year (yeah, contractors you mean), or “with AI we must better prepare for our future” (yeah, by betraying those who worked to position the company where it’s today) Questions from the auditorium will be preselected and those from Slack will be vented (if not entirely made up and prepared by the so-called meeting moderator)…
I was notified Wednesday morning before leaving for office. I specifically asked if I can go and clear out my desk this weekend, the AVP said yes, “you’re still an employee, just a non-working employee, your badge will still be active.” This morning I get to office, park, and the turnstile wouldn’t budge, it wasn’t until I called security and was told my badge was deactivated and I would need to speak with employee relations to get my personal items from my desk. Nothing like being lied too by your AVP when he says you’ll be unemployed in 60 days.
There are townhall meetings next week. It will be interesting to see how they spin it and I wonder if anyone will ask, "Did you really just cut access and escort people out? Is that how a company who values its employees really works?"
Maybe at this point in the game they realize people are catching on to their shady business practices and don't want anyone to take evidence with them when they leave. THAT is the kind of company USAA is.
I’ve been here for about 15 years. In the last 5 years of ~18 rounds of layoffs, I think I’ve received maybe 2 very vague emails and 1 time our VP brought us in for a town hall and gave zero answers and gave only canned statements. The rest I got more information for mySA.
Nope, just a P&C Specialist breaking news article
