Does anyone else get the feeling that some managers at TD were hired with zero real experience? Like, how is it that we're the ones having to teach them their jobs? This is unreal.

@a6 to "genuinely happy in my role" ... thank you for this insightful comment care of ChatGPT
@aq I agree completely with you. So much knowledge has went out the door and everyone is so burnt out. I don’t think upper management has a clear perception of how involved the roles below them can be so they try to oversimplify tasks that are not simple. Due to major budget cuts, they can’t hire qualified help so whoever is left is promoted with the proper training and understanding. Plus management has an unrealistic opinion that the other jobs are easy when they have never walked a day in their employees’ roles.
So many questionable hires...MH brought in a bunch of questionable hires, including CP and others that have lead more people out of Teradata than Moses out of Israel...EPS numbers are obviously more important than customer service and delivery and it's to the point that RIF's have lead to skeleton crews that cannot keep up with the load where the survivors are burnt out.
The layoffs are starting to have impact. Entire teams are gone, so whats left is people trying to fill in those gaps that may not have the expertise. People being "promoted" simply because there is no one else to do the job. With that, communication between groups breaks down, and with the constant change in strategy, there is confusion and chaos. I feel the breaking point is near in a lot of the groups I have dealings with, people are just too burnt out, and getting the brunt of the complaints when things arent moving the way they're supposed to. I feel it myself.
You mean like the board and C-suite? Or basically any director and above? That has crossed many minds.
I’m genuinely happy in my role. I work with a great team, the work is engaging, and I feel well supported by my manager. I truly appreciate my manager and the broader management team at Teradata for their guidance and support. The only challenge is that our deal desk and proposal management teams are extremely busy.
