The purpose of PIP is really to encourage you to leave. I imagine it is hard to be motivated after receiving one.
If you ride it out and they let you go, do you get the usual LR package and eligibility for unemployment insurance?

Pick a better group or team in another company. Who knows you might get rich at a startup or company with good growth.
Try it out and take your time if you are not on H1-B. h1-B candidates are usually given special preference and fast interviews. A lot of bias in the tech hiring.

none if they force you out at the end
most of the PIP done is not for legi reason, and is not ethical
3 of my team got PIP's including leaders/managers
you just got to be paid too much, too old, or not liked/popular
that's enough, they will make up reasons that you cannot argue
I won't even be friendly to them at this point
