Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

What to do

This is literally my first job after graduation, not sure what to expect or do? Will these cuts hit the university program?

@aq they indeed should be blocked from campus recruiting due to the fact they are RIFing high performers in the program. No one is safe.

I doubt that they would target the university program for anything other than poor performers. They are lower cost resources and if they got a reputation for RIF’ing university grads they would quickly be blocked from campus recruitment/mba recruiting by most prestigious schools

More rounds are coming this month. No job level or tenure is safe.

I’m linked with a few FISU people on LinkedIn, and as of two hours ago, they’re posting about how FIS is hiring for the upcoming FISU program season.

It’s really a shame how delusional leadership is to have people promote this program all while having constant layoffs. I’d tell anyone considering FISU to run far away, who is to say you’ll have a role after your rotation and who is to say you won’t be laid off.

Make sure you have a copy of any reviews or other pats on the back. Remove any personal documents on your laptop, for instance I have work personal items like insurance etc, I would want a copy of those details before I left.

Work on your resume and continue to grow your skills.

I have been with FIS almost 30 years, moving around the company, you are young and will be able to recover more quickly than your older peers.

Stay Strong.

FIS U is impacted as well. Don’t understand why they would promote the program and hire in the first place. Does not send a good message.

@OP I was just coming here to ask the same thing. These layoffs really caught me and my peers off guard...

@a1 makes me want to look for a new company. The more I read all this, the less I want to stay with FIS. Why punish the masses for the failures of the few?

@OP I have heard this round is focused heavily on director and above. So you might be on. I on the other hand was “lucky” to be promoted to director last year. Which might now be my undoing. Ah the irony
