Do we have any news of layoffs at UOP in Rosemont, IL and Des Plaines, IL yet? I'm sure they're around the corner.

@t5 KW and his strategy guy JR need to save themselves first. Very poor return on investment performance at all angles.
KW will think about this during upcoming luxurious CEO retreat and decide how many extra people to fire to offset the costs.
No worries. Ken West will save the day.
It is quite possible. They just riffed my location. I got hit as well. They didn't offer furloughs either like the all the prior years. Anyone who understands how management used these furloughs in the past to stick it to the employees while the business saves the capital to invest and grow later on, now understands that management must believe that the downturn in business will be longer than the next quarter. The excuse they gave us last time was that they said the furloughs would allow more employees to keep their jobs and we all shared the burden. I was okay with that rational as I would rather give up some pay than see people critical to the corporation cut.
However, this tariff environment and the TACO effect is causing managements across the country to lock up with indecision. HW, rather than furlough, they are cutting employees to raise capital thinking this downturn won't be a quarter or two, but perhaps a year or more.
In my niche field, barely anything out there to be honest. Good luck to the rest who remain. You folks I believe are in for a rough ride.
it will be 10% by EOY due to margin dropped
I heard they are targeting all over 50
@b5 well was no freeze in operation group last year or so as just hired like 7 ops/techs but now there's freeze hiring more. Not sure on admins/managers being let go as of yet.
@aq They've been in a hiring freeze for years though! Do you know if any administrative staff will be laid off or Riff'd?
Hiring freeze words that's going around.
