Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

CCC E-mail

If you haven't checked your e-mail, read the backhanded apology by Gunjan. Makes here sound even more clueless.

There was no apology, no acknowledgement of employee concerns adressed in that broadcast, and no intention to improve. I am gad that she's down to 43% on Glassdoor. The company is down to 58% approval! The ratings prove that we are collectively not here for the bs. You only get once opportunity to make a first impression and she failed miserably.

Was that an apology? The title was the only part I’d consider any sort of humility

She’s an ar-e

I take it as a sign of weakness. The mere fact that GK and her minions are so focused on the discussions that take place on this site demonstrates insecurity. Real leaders could shrug this stuff off. At the same time, it is telling that she feels the need to stoop to addressing the complaints of the peasant caste. She's scared.

Toothpaste is out of the tube. Too late to take back that first impression you left on your employees.

Half ar-e letter, she showed us she is. Nothing can change that.

Reading between the lines, you can assume that the Talk to Us survey participation was well below what would ordinarily be expected, as the space and distance between executive level leadership and the company employees that make things happen, continues to widen, much greater than at any point in the last 7 or 8 years. You can take those comments, the Townhall Event and look at the primary elements causing the bank not to perform well in all business lines, why the bank's publicly traded stock has not performed well comparable to its peers for more than a decade and why there is a sense of urgency and speed in comments from the top of the house (they know what is due in 2026 and in 2027).

The institutional shareholders and the Wall Street market analysts have shown leadership what must be done to correct this ongoing wayward journey adrift at sea, however, shareholders and analysts won't tell them how to do that, those answers reside within those deemed "selfish", voicing concerns that are "nonsense" and the ones who "need to make a friend at the office" and therein lies a fundamental and catastrophic problem.

The questions that ticked her off....let's ask them again and see how much she really learned...

"Will be intriguing to see what tone she uses in future town halls"

Agree, but let's not forget that she didn't call it a Town Hall (which implies a participatory experience), but rather an "All Company Broadcast". See the distinction? Even if the content is identical, the wording indicates her state of mind and how she views the team. We are not a team she wants to collaborate with. We are the minions, the workers, and were invited so that we could passively listen to her while she broadcast her message. The Q&A section was not even real. It was a formality where she was dismissive and condescending. We were expected to listen, take her messaging to heart, and comply as good little workers.

"Everyone below me says they love my straightforward a--hole style of leadership! They couldn't wait to get their noses in! I'm sorry you didn't like my town hall. Not sorry for what I said, just sorry you didn't like it. Also if you think I made morale worse, you are wrong, we have the highest morale here and no matter what I say or do it only goes up!" - Oblivious Gunjan

“you caution me to ensure it doesn't come across as a lack of care and compassion” which translates into other leaders relayed up the chain that she was awful and the minions are livid but “cautioned” her rather than speaking candidly and letting her know she can s!ck a bag of d!ck$

Will be intriguing to see what tone she uses in future town halls. More blatant nastiness or fake empathy laced with sadism?

@aq+1jvstx7pt The call playback has been available for about two weeks on the intranet.

Part of what she said was:

"What I appreciated the most was the feedback and advice I heard from many of you that will help me be a better leader for all of you. There were three big themes: You appreciated the clarity and transparency on our priorities, you value the greater candor and direct talk from leadership; and you caution me to ensure it doesn't come across as a lack of care and compassion. Thank you for your engagement, your energy and your sound advice."

Yet the recorded Town Hall mysteriously still is not available for playback...that's all you need to know. The playback is for 2nd and 3rd shift employees and those who are customer facing that can't step away when it was live. None of them heard this message directly and they won't be sharing it anytime soon.

You only get one shot at making a good first impression. She failed miserably. This shallow email doesn’t fix anything.

I am also set financially, so her coldness and lack of empathy don’t bother me.

That said, I feel bad for the people not as financially and can’t quit and have to suffer under this tyrant.

Hope people find strength to quit and not take this

I take the response as an apology. She didn't have to write this. It was subtle, but I bet it was an ego hit to do this. I forgive you Gunjan. Forgiving serves me, not you. Any anger I had has been dispersed to the ether.

What also gives me peace is "follow the money." Each and every word is crafted to maximize CEO and MC pay by increasing stock price. That is all. Understand the nature of a thing or entity, and it resolves to clarity. A predator ki-ls and eats. A mother lovingly raises children. A snake bites. ... bla bla

We are on this Earth 80 years if we are lucky. The current universe has been around 15-20 billion years. We are nothing.

The desperate attempt at any control limits all mortals on this Earth, including the ruling class. The power of any one person is an infinitesimally small bit if energy compared to a quasar.

I remember a story about a wealthy man in my neighborhood. And I mean uber wealthy. On his death bed, he cried because he couldn't buy even one more second on this Earth with his money. The he died. Poof.

One thing I can control is that I will NEVER quit. Sever me, fire me outright and I get unemployment. I follow the golden rule.

I am in a fortunate position to be financially independent. No-one knows. I exude quiet confidence. I do feel super bad for those who are in the midst of being young, very little safety net, mouths to feed and have to grovel. I've been there.

Hope this helps.

I think she’s taking a playbook from project 2025 and making all Fed workers miserable so they will quit.

She really want us to quit to avoid severance pay. They are paying out lots of severance next quarter after hundreds of WCIB operations employees were laid off and paid severance

I didn’t think it was going to be any worse until I read that e-mail. Lawd!! Is her comms team that incompetent or are they really trying to spook us into quitting by being this bad??

She should have kept her mouth shut and I would have been fine with that. I’m tuning out for the rest of 2025

Real disgusting. I saw the subject line and was expecting an apology and how she is still learning and will do better as a human being, but nope. Nope.

No apology. Thanks for your feedback, but I don’t give a cr-p. Sick sick sick. Wish I haven’t read it

leave 1 star on Glass Door and indeed (and not approve GK as ceo). if you have us bank account, reduce checking and saving account balance. if you are using us bank for direct deposit switchto different bank or CU.

And no apology included in it. She’s just grateful for our “advice” and is touting that we all actually appreciate and value what she’s giving us. Gaslighting at its finest
