The Oil industry has become an awful industry to work in due to CEOs like MW and DW at Exxon. The greed and disregard for employees is at its peak. Soon everyone will be outsourced in the industry other than big whilst. Field workers at some point will be replaced as well. In our case instead of trying to grow we are going to "Layoff to Win". We are making plenty of cash but never enough for leadership. Regulations are needed badly.

I sure hope I don't get any Toxic "Dust" on me working in this inDUSTy. LMAO!
@b6, So you have a very bitter attitude and apparently don't like corporations in general and think it's always someone else's fault, everyone else is wrong about things and you're right, you know everything and everybody, and everyone's a hypocrite but you. And you want other people to suffer like you. Now why do you work at CVX again if they're so bad?
@aw+ Nope, until a company lays them off or rips them off in some way they will keep up with the "if you don't like it, get out attitude. Companies can do what they want. You just are a whimp and cant deal with it. Start your own company if you dont like it". Those same people came out whole heartedly against companies mandating a covid vaccine since it effected them and screamed for government to regulate. A company can't force me to do it. Perfect example of hypocrisy.
The oil industry has always been a dog-eat-dog industry with a history of questionable morals. Read Daniel Yergin’s excellent book ‘The Prize’ for a warts and all history of our business. Realistically, most folks understand they’re not joining the Peace Corps when they sign on the dotted line. Looking at the wider economic picture, there is a case to be made that we are returning to the days of the robber barons from the 19th and early 20th century, where oligarchs made immense fortunes with little care for their blue collar work force. The late 40’s and 50’s might be considered a deviation from this norm, when the citizen soldiers returned from the beaches of Normandy and Okinawa and demanded (and under leaders line Eisenhower got) a fair deal in exchange for building the industrial backbone of America.
But it pays well and if you know what your doing its happy days.
@at, so you wish that "something happens to them"?? Well that's called being vindictive and nasty, mr. virtue signal. You should take a dose of your own medicine before you try to dish it out on others.
@at, So you agree with your own post, well of course we expected that, as you agree with the OP's lame post.
@aq+1jkrb31t2 I am with you on that. There are miserable people out there that seem to enjoy letting companies run over them and treat people like garbage. Things don't have to be like this. We could have a little balance in the world where the average person isn't hosed over at the drop of a hat. Brutal people like this guy just don't care about people. No humanity at all. They will never change until something happens to them.
The OP's post is like a child who just got their first job and realizes what the real world is like for the first time and thinks that what he/she describes is unique to one industry.
@aq, You seem to be quite the miserable, angry, hateful vindictive human yourself. Have you seen a therapist about your issues? It may be a good place to start since you seem to be targeting specific others that you disagree with. That's not healthy.
@a9+1jkrb31t2 Your posts are so identifiable. You post with the same sh---y attitude on all these threads. I hope you find some happiness because you seem to be a miserable, angry, hateful human.
Have you thought about quitting, and going to work in a different industry? You seem miserable, and a whiney bi--h. My guess is you are also an underperformer.
It doesn't have to be so extreme. You can be hardworking, make a healthy profit, be a multi-millionaire, and still treat honest hardworking employees with dignity and respect. It has been done and it can be done. There is A LOT of gray area between leftist socialism and extreme unchecked capitalist winner take all oligarchy gilded age. It is possible.
Uhh, yea. Buh Bye. Broken record, please go away and work for your pitiful pathetic non-profit which is not actually a non-profit but a tax class distinction.
We've all heard your pitiful pathetic whines why do you work for CVX or are you just a troll?
All industries are toxic. Look at Meta. Look at the insurance industry.
Yes, this is a glimpse of our emerging oligarchy. Just as unchecked leftist democracies can lead to a communist society, capitalism can also devolve into an oligarchy dominated by corporations and wealthy technocrats.
all US Power players are toxic. Wealth drives everything and forms the Deep state only its no the projections portrayed
Oil industry has always been toxic. It’s a magnet for greed, power lust, and ego.
Grown up dude.
