Any News on Supplemental COBRA Stimulus Payments?

Has anyone received an update on the supplemental COBRA payments that were included in the last stimulus bill? Originally it sounded like we would get more information by May 15th. I have not seen anything. We should not have to be paying a dime through September according to that bill.

For the older workers on this list, if you are Medicare eligible you are NOT eligible for subsidy.

I finally received a letter in the mail on 5/24 including an Attestation form, which I emailed back to them, in turn receiving a receipt confirmation email. We no longer have to pay premiums through September and I was told the refund for the months we already paid will automatically be refunded. Let’s see how long that takes.

ConnectYourCare received my signed attestation and now my premium amount due is $0.00 through September. If you have taken COBRA that form needs to be signed / returned ASAP so you don't have to pay anything additional for coverage. They will refund any premiums paid for April, May, etc within 60 days. It also sounds like if you were eligible for COBRA starting in April, but didn't elect coverage, you can sign up for it now.

I emailed ConnectYourCare and this is what is going on. If you go into your account, there is a document you need to review dated 5/17/21. I hadn't received it by email as of this evening and didn't know it was out there until I signed into my account today. You have to sign an attestation that you don't have any other insurance, etc and either email or snail mail the attestation found on page 5 of the pdf back to them. If you already paid a premium or so since April they will only refund if you send in the attestation and also request a refund of the premiums paid since April. I immediately did that late this afternoon and am hoping they get this all taken care of soon....fingers x'd.

Most of us already signed up for COBRA. There is a portion in the stimulus bill that should be picking up the reduced amount we are paying through September. The response previously was ConnectCare had to respond this month. I'm going to contact ConnectCare, the COBRA provider, and will let you all know what's up when I get a response.

You should call HR and check your emails regarding COBRA from them since you have until 5/31 to respond... Although I heard you'd be better off with Medicaid nowadays.
