Hot take but since Nike is over staffed why not offer a buyout option? Over 10 years and certain levels of age just let them volunteer and avoid the noise. Other companies are doing it. Google again. That would be a positive all team announcement for many. EH said he only wants people here who want to be here and that’s a great way to help navigate the crossroads.

Everyone would take a buyout. No one would be left but lifers who can’t work anywhere else
Over staffed? Perhaps you are in HR but everywhere else it’s two to three job titles per person
@ap that’s incorrect. Companies have long offered buyouts as “early retirement” based on age. Very possible and easy to do.
"Certain age" is legally considered discriminatory.
Nike is already running light on FTEs. Especially ‘good ones’. Buyouts are only taken by confident people with options, 9 out of 10 times these are ‘the good ones’.
Half the reason teams are currently overloaded is because we’ve spent at least 5 years hiring mountains of temporary bodies as cheaply as possible.

Don’t get me wrong I would LOVE if hr offered a buyout. Would take it in a heartbeat. 40-50k + 40k pto payout = I could interview unsuccessfully for two years before I even begin to think of sweating.
HR should chime in but I’d imagine it’s a bunch of trouble and work for people to hire to fill roles for people they actually want to keep
