Who makes the decision on who gets cut or not? Directors? L7s and L8s?
Saw a comment about a Sr. Director say to their org that they didn’t know and was blindsided by the news. I personally don’t believe that

@OP senior directors were not in the know on this. It was much higher up bc so many leadership positions are going to be impacted.
If you have watched “Office Space” you would know it’s the “Bobs” who tells TGT which jobs to cut.
@ap It's cute how you think HR exists to help employees.
I was there for the 2009, 2015, and part of the 2023 trickle RIFing - sometimes the list of stay/go happens at the SVP level and VPs get notified.
These decisions are made at the officer level and up.
@ag why was she not reported to HR? You should have made a record of the comments/targeted attacks she made.
if it's anything like 2015, it's a lot of outsider consultant driven analysis of the organization as a whole and perceived inefficiencies.
I just hope my toxic former manager (L6) is part of this list. She has been creating chaos, drama, and toxicity in our team for so long. Some good people quit because of her, and the majority of her targets are people of color. Hopefully, karma is finally coming!
Great to hear! VPs will just keep people they like, good thing I golf and fish!
@a2 VP and up. L8 and below won’t be notified because they are also on the chopping block.
Directors and up, there'd be no notice. This past 2 months in areas I know there's been a lot of 'what does your team do?' meetings that leaders had with their VP which would inform the SVP/VP decision-making, but the headcount and which teams have been held close to the chest because a lot of L7/8 are in the same boat for headcount reduction
@OP I doubt that anyone below VP level has any idea and if they do they certainly have no say.
