Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

This place doesn’t deserve your effort

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but working for this company is a losing game. They expect total dedication while treating employees like disposable parts in a machine. The second things get tough, they’ll cut people without a second thought, then act like those who left were the problem. And of course, the usual gossip starts, trying to trash anyone smart enough to walk away. It’s exhausting, and honestly not worth the mental toll. If you’ve got other options, take them.

@ces “F5 bleeds your brain dry and then kickc you to the curb” is probably the type of comment they are basing this on.

Let’s assume being “kickc” to the curb is being fired. And they admit their brain is dry now, so they are stating they feel unemployable.

So yes, sounds accurate to me. A fed up former employee that exaggerates.

The problem is not the layoffs. Every Tech company does that some point or the other. Firing the wrong people is the problem... Leadership plays the game quite well and I hope with the re-org..managers, Sr.managers, directors are let go... some of the TPM's, Solution Architects are a joke at f5..

@anj You must realize some people, since being fired, can’t move on. They are going to let the hate reside in them for years, possible a decade, if they can’t move on. Which will probably limit their usefulness at any other company stupid enough to hire them. They will be just as critical at their new company as at their old. Vicious cycle. They will never be happy.

@ac8 “How can one be grateful tfor having to deal with the devil.” What devil is that? The devil employing you? Providing benefits, where they pay some and you pay some? Giving you weeks off work with pay? 10 paid holidays? Wellness weekends? Free drinks, snack? Free mental health services? Time off to volunteer? Free training? A 401k match? That devil?

@ac8 And were you complaining the whole time or working hard to keep your job during this critical time? I rest my case. IOW - you can be grateful or not. Karma will figure it out.

@965 you make it sound so black and white. I can relate to the poster. I had a job I started to hate after a year. My wife then was given a diagnosis that required 5 surgeries over a two year period. Only reason I stayed was the medical benefits. How can one be grateful tfor having to deal with the devil. ?Shame on you for being so judgemental

@965 start, do your job, stop. Don’t engage in politics. Unless you’re stupid enough to waste your life and energy on things that don’t matter.

Amazing that people that are so unhappy stay where they are. It’s not a prison. You have freedom to quit. Complaining in prison doesn’t do much, if anything. If you can’t find another job, you either aren’t trying hard enough… or… maybe accept the fact that you are lucky F5 employs you if no one else will. Hmm.

Show us a company that doesn’t do this. If employees believe that the company is a family they can blame themselves for surprises.
