Hearing from various high level people that soon all LOBs will force employees to make sure their 8 hours in the office are during core business hours such as 8 to 4 or 9 to 5. If you come in 6 and work until 2, they won’t allow it going forward. They want to align all LOBs and make sure everyone is working same hours for better collaboration and synergies

@a7 We were told in a meeting this week that we will need to work on a rotation to ensure coverage from 7-5. To me it sounded like a dept thing and not company so likely managers discretion and also the business need for your particular job.
It’s on good authority 🤣
I also heard DF has instructed the biometrics team to insert catheters in us to eliminate the need for bathroom breaks at the next biometrics screening coming to a city near you
Hello 1985! I didn’t realize the stagecoach was a Time Machine.
Well that would be d-mb. Some of us are in core locations that are 2 or 3 hours behind the East coast so we come in at 6 or 7 to maximize time with business partners and project teams in NY or CLT.
Yeah, and those "expected" times are not what the OP posted. Some of us support 24 hour operations. Go ahead and tell me what the "expected" hours are in that environment.
People who have no idea what they are doing (executives in this case) need to focus on outcomes, not meaningless and irrelevant BS. When shareholders demand answers not one of them will ever ask "yeah, but what schedule did your people work?" That never has been and never will be a thing, which means all this noise is nothing more than employee-harassing BS.
Ignore all the noise on this page. Work what hours you think you can. If you don’t know ask your manager not this board. EVERYONE is going to vary a little bit and this changes frequently
Sad thing is I sometimes come in at 6am and leave at 2pm only to sign in at home until 5pm...I have been giving them 11 hours in total...On days not in the office probably need to start offsetting extra time and work 10 to 4pm or so...
Believe it or not practically every business that's ever existed has an expected start and end time for its employees. Just because WF decided to throw all of that out the window for a few years, for whatever reason, doesn't change that fact. Good luck finding someone to pay you six figures, give you a ton of PTO and letting you work whenever its convenient. Wake up Alice because this aint Wonderland.
@OP
Sure you did...
Now tell us who shot Kennedy
@b5 how do you feel about silo’s and bandwidth?
I hate the word synergies
Honestly, giving me a documented, management-approved reason to tell India and East Coast people to fu-k off if they try to schedule before 8 AM AZ time would be welcome. I'm mostly drawing boundaries, but still finding myself being accommodating here and there. Be nice to draw a hard line
AHM!!!!!
ALL HOURS MATTER!!
Let’s get shirts made
@an I take a solid hour daily
You guys get trolled way too easily, come on now.
I’d love to see how they track and report this. The so called “rules” people have called out don’t exist either. All hours matter
@a1 who actually takes a lunch though?
We need to understand that all they want is our resignations so these “rumors” are valid because I also heard the same thing from a friend in Charlotte. That’s where it originated from.
They should put a lock in each office building. The security will only unlock at 4pm or 5pm. What a great company!
Good luck to you all!
These people are clowns. Today we can collaborate virtually. As tools are more available to work across timezones and geographic locations they are actually going backwards. Maybe next year they can replace computers with teletypes and adding machines. Operator, get me Klondike 457, I need to make a call.
OP stated only half of it. The core business hours such as 8 to 4 or 9 to 5 will align with India timezone. India is approximately a 12 hour difference, so 8pm to 4am our time etc...
working hours are whatever your management says the are. the only times that don't count towards your 8 hours are weekends and weekdays between midnight and 3a.
My one friend's company is doing this and basically said "beating traffic" and "picking up kids" is no longer an excuse to not work during working hours. I could see it happening if they do not get enough attrition. They also complain as they have coworkers in India and never can interact with them unless they put in extra hours.
People wonder why everyone is hating corporate America these days.
What I don’t understand is, how can they expect to have 100% of the Wells Fargo workforce coming in at the exact same hours already? I read about how there’s not enough seating so where are these people gonna sit?
Squid game
Yup!! Mandatory 50 minute lunch. Breaks will be shortened to 5 minutes a piece.
That was a rumor today I heard but not from “various high level” people. So we can’t work 7a-3p? I would like someone to show me in the employee handbook where it says that.
@a3 yeah, WTF. most people i work with are in different time zones so i work 9-5 PT (even though that's not my time zone) since it works best scheduling-wise. but i'll do whatever stupid thing they say i guess. they're not gonna get me to quit.
OP here, I honestly have no idea what I am talking about. Sorry everyone...
So they're basically trying to create impossible conditions needed to justify firing people who weren't lucky enough to find a cubicle. It's becoming White Collar Hunger Games.
Half of our team is in India. What hours do we align to?
Sounds good, can I align with CS's time zone?
@OP that doesn’t factor in lunches. I think those high level people were just high.
