@OP Two years after my RIF, I still get the FIOS discount.
Look in to Visible.com for cell service. It's a discounter owned by Verizon and you can get unlimited packages for $19 or $20 all in during promotions.
Verizon employee discounts are not generous.
Where Verizon is especially generous is with pay & bonuses, PTO, etc.
That's all likely to change with cost reduction push.
The teams monitoring this are so clueless I wouldn't be surprised if you have it for YEARS. I know multiple people that voluntary leave that keep their wireless discount for a long time. Ask any old peers.
@aj fact. AT&T grabbed me at the wholesale shop other day and basically offered me almost half what I was paying on my 50% employee plan. Offered up to $800 per line payoff too.
@aq it’s on the FAQ doc.
It is very clear in the package. 52 weeks like others have said but you only.get the 25% afterwards if you are retiree- eligible. That is explained in the docs as well. I volunteered for the rif. Im 63 and im just short of rule of 75 but I have 55/10 so I qualify. However at 25% id go to Visible. The only reason im keeping my current plan at 50% is b/c of my home internet with verizon.
It makes sence to keep that for a yr at my current plan rate..after that, im pretty sure I will bail. The damn Access fee su-ks. Even at 50% it is $55.
@an when I left (VSP) they cut my cell discounts off after 2 billing cycles. Not sure where the 52 weeks comes from unless it’s a union benefit.
you get 52 weeks from seperation date of epp 50% discount then lifetime of retire phone program which is 25% discount.
You generally getter a better price than the employee discount from the competitors.
Joe much is the Verizon discount?
I never signed up in the first place because Verizon seemed expensive!
Please disconnect your lines if you were laid off Dan’s big push was we lost 7000 customers? I wonder how it feel to lose 13,000.
Layoffs site. Not HR. Let me guess. Low performance grade
52 weeks
I think you’ll get your Verizon discount for another year
