Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

I’m really on the fence about this job

At this point, I’d feel both relieved and terrified if I got laid off. Relieved to escape the exhaustion and anxiety, but scared of what comes next. And if I stay, I know I’ll just feel numb, dealing with the inevitable toxic fallout from the cuts. No matter how you look at it, this isn’t how anyone should feel about their job.

@an No one is stopping you from leaving. And as another poster said, you can start your own business and treat your employees the way you believe they deserve. Show DE that you’re a better employer.

@b1 Running your own business is still an option. No one can stop you from caring about your employees the way they deserve.

@ap its very apparent that DE doesn’t care about anyone and all employees are expendable. CBS used to be a place where multiple generations in a family worked and felt a genuine connection to. It’s very apparent that DE and the new regime don’t care about anyone. RIP CBS

@an DE cares about this company. More importantly he cares about each and every worker on every level. He’s going to do us right.

Did it! Got a job offer. Took around 7 weeks of intense interviewing, rejections and disappointments. The ones defending this company talk as if they were friends with DE personally. DE gives a rats a-s about regular ppl like the rest of us. The RTO mandate is a telltale sign.

curious why you didn't take the buyout then? i know for a few warn money could be more money and make them eligible for CA unemployment .
my boss did tell me that a few opt ins did save specific jobs for other people that wanted or needed to remain at the company
just wondering if there was another reason i'm not seeing ..

There are plenty of people willing to take your place. If you don’t believe in DE’s vision then you can leave. That man has taken on the burden of bringing this company back from the dead and I will follow him wherever he goes. DE if you’re reading this, thank you. You don’t deserve the hatred and vitriol that many spew at you.

Agreed. I think leaving is the best option at this point even if it means not having anything on the other side.
