Weren’t most offices closed to save money?! Now add offshoring and RIF’s to cut costs again….but now demanding RTO. There is no space now! No one can get work done in the office, the desks provide no privacy! This company is a sh-t show and about to explode with diarrhea….
Oh and add that the severance packages for those that have been loyal
Employees for +25 years is an insult!!

if you don't live near a pulse point - you need special permission from MK to interview for a promotion - you won't get the position - but you won't be able to prove you were "blocked" that has been in place for a long time. Why anyone who does not live near a pulse point thinks they are safe, just because directors and VP's get away with "permanent virtual" is beyond common sense - this place is a constant contradiction - people who see the writing on the wall are leaving or have left.

Not sure about those people getting RIF'ed, but I heard they will have no chance of getting any kind of promotion.

This has been a fear of mine since there were rumors prior to COVID. Super unfair to associates no where near pulse points that would go in if they could. 😕

There are many departments in my area that were classified as virtual and yet many of those people live 10-20 miles from pulse points. I’m not sure if it’s because thry are ops/support/hourly but it kinda su-ks for those of us who are almost or over the 50 mile mark and have to go in.

Yet there is an SVP in Atlanta who lives 46 miles from the office so she is permanent WFH. Fair is fair or don’t do it at all.

If you believe RTO will only affect people leaders you are delusional. It will affect everyone. If you have worked here more than 5 yrs you have seen things change that you never thought would or were told would not. I have been flipped from salary to hourly back to salary, been told to do this, then told to that - and blamed for not meeting goals regardless of constant hiring freezes. Which if you pay attention happen every year than you are supposed to mass hire for new business sold 3-6 months earlier - wake up and either accept your path or get out. I am getting out. Many of my friends have already or are making plans.

I hesitate in providing this message on several of these inquiries as I was Riffed.
I was anxious and worried as many of you are (the feeling is real & still) but that was all out of my control. Don't waste your energy on it anymore of RTO or am I going to be "Riff" and when. I worked 80 hours a week, cancelled PTO consistenly to help others hoping they could save me if I got Riffed. Again out of your control and not many individuals will be there when it does happen.

I still do not have a new job and anticipate IF I am lucky 6 months I will settle for something with a dramatic salary ⬇️. We all have special talents so I will not say I am more talented than another individual (as I know we all work extremely hard as Elevance would not have hired us). I share as it is hard out in this new job market as so many other top companies have laid off thousands of top talent employees in anticipating AI replacement.

PLAN: Be Prepared
You have the opportunity to plan your exit and be prepared. Go to the doctor, dentist, etc. Take your all your PTO unless you are in a state that you get that benefit if not used. Many of your collegues that once loved you, will ghost you. That is ok as well. But you can only control how you prepare.

Please note: no rude comments here be kind.

A few things…. I’ve heard that only people managers are returning to the office in July for three days a week. I also have heard from multiple executives there will be no other changes to RTO. That means 50 mile rifs, all associates returning three days a week.

Playing devils advocate: if everyone else at your same level and lives within 50 miles of a pulse point has to RTO and the reasoning is for “collaboration” why do you think it would be fine on a company level for you to not have the same requirement and if you can’t fill that requirement, that you should be able to keep your job? Just curious because if you think they cannot do place you, they absolutely will with someone else who would be willing to RTO for a job/money. I’m not saying that they would be as good as you but that’s ok, they will make them or will get rid of them too. I think you need to get ready to be riffed if you are not close enough to a pulse point or are not willing to relocate. Just a matter of time.
I know people who were riffed and more than 50 miles so they were marked “virtual.” Now every time that they apply for anything, even when they check all the boxes for the job, their applications are automatically sp-t out and rejected because they don’t live within 50 miles of the listed pulse point or any pulse point. The writing is on the wall. Beat to prepare now.

@an+1jvcyh8xp I try to post this as often as possible. SVP and below, for sure, have little to no say in anything going on. They are just the messenger.

I sure hope this is a rumor as my latest manager is 100% remote due to the 50 mile rule. No more managerial changes. Make. It. Stop.

They want people who don’t know what’s going on so they can continue with fraudulent practices. Sounds like they need to get rid of leaders with knowledge so they can avoid having whistleblowers.

A heads up that most likely at the staff vp level and below, no one knows what is going to happen. Even those of us who are in leadership positions at the company have the truth hidden from us and are in the same boat trying to guess what happens next. There is a trend of hiring leaders externally who have no idea how the business they are over actually works but they are proficient at deceiving their leadership about how bad their area is actually performing. VP and above are the real decision makers. Staff VP and below are just subject to whatever those above them decide. Make no mistake about it unless you are in Sales or another area that is difficult to move offshore or have AI do your job, you are part of the plan to be let go. I am starting to see leaders get let go that were part of leadership programs that the company heavily invested in. I am seeing leaders let go that were historically significantly exceeds or exceeds expectations. Doesn’t matter anymore.

I could see where they enforce the move within 50 miles or resign and then end up RIFing associates after they uprooted their families to be closer to a pulsepoint. I dont know how anyone can feel secure at this point. I get it anyone can be let go at anytime in any corporation in America but I have never seen anything like this before. Holding associates hostage out of fear for their jobs. You can see it daily, everyone is just looking out for themselves and throwing others under the bus and pointing fingers. Pathetic behavior but people are trying for it to be someone else and not them to lose their job.

I don’t think anyone outside of senior senior leadership knows the truth, but a lot of us see the writing on the wall. This new 3 day RTO for director above needs to play out first. Then (probably early ‘26) they’ll give an option to those outside 50mi to move or resign (with a very select few getting a pass).

The whole thing is ridiculous, but it’s coming. Only silver lining would be if they open up some of the restricted offices. Secretly hoping as I would love to transfer to a certain one :)

I have heard so many versions of what RTO means and what it doesn't mean and what the rules are that I don't believe anything I hear these days. Even though they claim HR is 100% in charge of RTO, it appears mid-level managers are making their own rules, one set of secret rules for the favorites and a different more stringent set of rules for anyone outside of their cliques. And they want to preach to us about honesty and integrity???
