Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

When is round two?

Any rumors about when they'll do more cuts? Its hard to just wait around not knowing what's next.

I know a bunch of people that are praying it's soon... But to me, sounds like it could be in the summer...

I have a feeling since it was less than "50" people this round in Burlington, that the next round is coming during the summer... That would kinda make sense to me, plus with CFS moving into the building in July, they will need to make more room...

@am Define low-level admin job? But expect more quiet quitting. Guess this is Sammy's way of responding to the backlash against the bad survey results. This forum appears to be the only outlet to get the truth out about the evil that's ruining the company. S@#k f#u, Sammy-Sun.

I feel like every few weeks a few people get let go. Burlington / Itasca few people just got let go. Couple weeks before that a few upper Management in Central and West. Few wks before that a few MS people got let go and I think service. The few VPs the last quarter. Their slowly making cuts across the board in each department. No one is safe.

They are very sneaky by breaking up rounds to avoid WARN Notices and negative news stories. I’ve noticed that they like to spread out layoffs across locations, and they don’t cluster the layoffs above 40-45 per location at any given time to avoid the limelight in the press and to keep employees in the dark until the moment of truth. They are never going to announce layoffs ahead of time because they know employees will slack off, although I suppose that’s happening already with morale at an all-time low. My guess is that there will be minor layoffs to come in a few months as they shift more work to the temp workers overseas. If you’re in a low-level administrative role, you’re probably at risk.
