@h3 IMO , the 2H folks will have the upper hand , for one the process may be a lot more streamlined by the time 2H selections hit. They’ll have the 1H PDC as well as 2H selections and likely a fall PDC where as 1H will only have the PDC here in a few weeks as one more shot at keeping job. Not to mention a scenario where additional jobs get pulled in due to cutting too deep in certain areas.

@dc it's another level of preformative CYA for CVX. If they were advised to apply to something else at this stage of the game... they gone. If they were going to be kept, they would just be slotted into a role they didn't select as one of their 3.

@f5, got it. So it’s ok to mess with the positions for 2H and reduce the likelihood those participants retain long-term employment as long as we give them a few extra paychecks to feel good about it.

You know what’s awesome? Some of the 2H selection event jobs being brought forward to the mid-year PDC so the 1H participants who didn’t land a job have more options in the PDC. Glad to know the 2H participants are getting f’ed over.

@d5 all the NM and TX superintendents I know already live and work in Houston. I know this because I actually work with them. So I'm very curious what superintendent in NM you're actually talking about.

@d6 how are they being urged to apply to something else? I thought the job tool closed?

Some engineers in the Midland Deuville office have been called into the HR office last week and told their 3 jobs selections won't land them anything and are urged to select something else or they won't make it. Pathetic when you hear they're literally crying coming out of there because their own delusions of their worth made them apply against their reps recommendations.

Yes the one of the superintendents in NM who's a 25 PSG just announced on her Facebook she's moving to Houston. Must be nice to have some privilege!

In my team, higher level managers are placing their individual contributors in our team because some of the people no longer have job positions in the USA to apply for. So people other that the "job owners" are selecting people for jobs in my team. I have spoken to these managers in meetings.

Yes I understand, I apologize for not using the specific term "job owners". The positions in my team have already been selected by the manager and the "job owner". If you think the the managers above the "job owners" are not part of the decision, you are gravely mistaken. The decision is not only by the "job owner" in my team.

The managers have their short lists and next week is for the selection reps to assign people into roles. I wish the best for those awaiting a job role. God speed.
