There’s a lot of associates who simply cannot comply with RTO because of their location. Do they get a free pass ( so jealous) or will they be offered to relocate or be Riff’d? It’s unfair being penalized OR punished by your geographic location. If anthem is headed in the backwards direction of just having clumps of geographic based talent they are really limiting themselves to acquiring the best talent. Additionally, having done both and every variation in between, collaboration with multiple teams that is required for many roles, is far easier and more effective when done virtually. Just curious what level of thought and reasoning has gone into RTO. Will it be sweeping or more surgical?

@am+1jt3nqxdf I recently interviewed for a position, but I think it was only to put an appearance that there is a chance to move up. I had been told that I couldn’t move up or laterally. I was at the top of my career ladder so there was no where for me to go. When I got RIF HR said I could apply for other jobs, but there is nothing to apply for when they closed all of the offices within 50mi I could have gone into.
It just doesn’t matter. It’s all going offshore. Look for a new job while you still have one. Less stress.
You can’t post for another position unless you live 50 miles or less to an office. That was the first question on an internal interview I had this week. The recruiter wants to make sure of it before they continue with the interview.
I’ve heard that if you are out of Pulse Point range, you can’t transfer to another team. I don’t know if that means you can’t be promoted within the team you are already on. So if you wanted to internally job hunt you are sc--wed. If you look at job posting the requirement is 50 miles of a PulsePoint.
I honestly dont think anyone knows yet.
I like you am anxiously anticipating some kind of guidance.
Sorry to hear about the RIF
You can’t be promoted if remote? Are you just terminally stuck at a job grade?
I was remote and have been for over 12 years and got RIF. I had no opportunity for advancement or job changes because of my location.
Today there are some fully remote workers that are required to go in once a quarter or more while others have never stepped into an office in years and yet they live well within 50 miles of one. How is that determined?
no such thing a remote 1 or remote 2. You are referring to hybrid 1 or hybrid 2. If someone is listed as Virtual, the change going into effect 7/15 does not impact them
If you’re a remote one today you’re a remote two when this goes into effect. If you’re full time remote then it doesn’t affect you. They’re basically pushing R1 (1x a week) forward to R2 (3x a week).
I’m trying to figure out where I fall. I have 1 pulse point within 50 miles of me but it shows “Restricted”. So does it count towards me being within 50 miles or not???!!!
