Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

AEOI No takers

Can't see the point in anyone going for AEOI unless they have another job to jump to sooner.

Note to HR: Sweeten the deal with 2.5 weeks per year or guarantee to stay on payroll through June. I think many more would take it if they weren't getting the boot as soon as end of April. Otherwise there is no real incentive...

Can anyone clarify if AEOI will be available to ABU employees? I’ve only seen information for US Payroll and Global Offshore Payroll.

I’m not sure I can take another 4 months or so of this nonsense just to come to the same ultimate outcome that I will be laid off. Let’s get this party started and be swift and decisive!

Peace.

@am+1jm0vyhjr It gives people who don't want to be there the opportunity to leave. It's also not helpful for the company to retain employees who don't want to be there.

Why would Chevron want any employee to take EOI? It's an adverse selection nightmare, and one that prudent companies avoid.

The good ones will take EOI. The bad ones will stay.

I can understand a few early retirement buyouts for those who have retired in place. However, with 30%+ cuts in many groups, you can presumably cut the deadwood through standard rank and yank process.

I'd get 16 weeks of severance with AEOI. If I was forced to take a role, I could just lay low and cruise til some time later this year and get paid more than that. Seems to be MW's game plan, just kinda stick around and do a meh job, maybe do a couple Mad Money spots and destroy a perfectly good company.

Your most talented folks will be grabbing this option. It’s the people so desired they have options lined up and waiting.

Not every group is in scope for the layoffs. Accelerated EOI is the only way to try to get a package for those people, and it has to be approved by Vp (accept, deny, or defer).

How about this.. you have to go into selection if you don't EOI.. if you are in round 1 and you get picked .. now you deny and no severance anymore . Should be good reason for someone to say goodbye if you were retiring anyways
