Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Pay increases

No one and I mean no one at dxc should get an inflation pay increase. If you met or exceeded your goals you should get a 5% or better pay increase

If you want an inflation pay increase then change companies if you can

The days of people working 9am till 5pm and logging out have gone. The people who are logged in "out of hours" do so more because they spent the morning yapping, and the afternoon in the garden, and now feel they should be seen to do an hours work for the company. It's not how many hours you work the company should be looking at. Either that or these people are so inefficient something that takes anyone else an hour is taking them all day so they need to work extra to show the same value for their salary!?

@2pey
I'm not forcing anyone to do anything. They choose to do it.
They don't get overtime, they do get TOIL

What I'm saying (maybe you missed it) is that it's classed as overtime against the cost code just because they record actual hrs worked and our bean counters think it's an actual cost so want me to stop "paying" overtime when in reality they are helping DXC by working above their contracted hrs for free.

This is what Mikey's Accenture bean counters brought to the party

I got a shittagram for "charging overtime as a manager and told how I should be expected to work those hrs" when all I did was record my actual hours worked in DXC Time.

I get nothing extra.

It's 2024. And at DXC you are still discussing about pay raises?

Overall there will be increase in line with inflation or less.
DXC will only give some essentiell staff a pay rise.

This is since 2017 and the situation has not improved.

Not sure who starts this topic every now and then - and why?

@2aul+1stXlTge Why are you getting staff to work more for nothing?

Why would these people do more than their contracted hours for no pay year after year?

DXC isn't a charity, they are in it for profit at the top. Your extra free hours goto fund Marys yacht. She only sends 3 emails a year and some other side stuff. its good for her and she thinks the bafoons are your employees working for nothing.

You need to stop bullying/manipulating them, they are better working free hours for a charity or spending time with their family/other interest.

It just shows how little the bean counters understand.
I've got guys who do work "overtime", namely more than they are.supposed to.
Their job level means they don't get paid overtime regardless of how many hours they work.

But.. this is priceless.....

I recently got a report asking me to reduce my overtime "spend"...
These guys are contracted for 40hrs a week and do more for free,.yet because they record those free hours in DXC time and etes it's counted as paid overtime. It even has a dollar value.

So stick with me here...
The bean counters assume it's a financial cost to the cost codes, but it's not, as my people get paid the same if they did 40 or 400 hrs
So these mo--ns are asking my guys and girls to do less free overtime and just stick to contracted hours.

When I questioned it I was told to keep filling in the report and speak to local HR.
Imagine if this was Germany or NL with their works council..
Absolute buffoons.
Who are we to argue?

@1ctm+1stXlTge I work with 3 people like that they are on 24x7 non stop.

A couple of them have no life outside DXC where as the other has family and small children but he prefers to sign in and do free work late night.

They need to get a life, dxc won't give you any extra even if you do 80 hours a week. They think of themselves as hero's, Everyone else just laughs at them.

To set expectation. Any pay rise will be a token percentage, shared equally regardless how good or how useless you are. The good ones already get paid a bit more, but should not be penalised. The bad ones haven't had a pay rise in years so need something. So budget on 0% to 2%. Probably best to assume 0.

The problem is there are so many a44 liquers who will work non stop out of hours and send out emails at strange times
Like 23.00pm or 02.30am.

They have no life outside DXC and are saddos spoiling it for everyone else.

I prefer the Networks team approach, only way to get a rise.

The problem is you have guys (typically apprentices) who have big dreams.

Even if the main workforce down tools, the apprentices in the hope of being promoted to directors and snr manager level overnight because they can do the job in their heads will absorb the slack.

Sadly the leadership team have staff over a barrel, pay them so low so that when OT is offered they have no choice but to accept it.

The workforce need a unified, departmental or otherwise, approach. They are quiet quit, they all say no to OT.

One of DXCs clients uses a simple grid system for pay. Even the lowest rating got a pay rise.

I don't know what planet you live on but overtime is not mandatory. If a company treats their employees like dirt then guess what, its reciprocal. And yes, HR policies play a huge part in that work environment. You clearly do not work in DXC and are definitely new to business and work life.

: @akq+1stXlTge you must be new in business as HR isnt their for the employees, its so purpose is to protect the company !

If your an IT professional overtime is part of the job description , grow up!

No one and I mean no one at dxc should work more than their contracted hours. Never go above and beyond, never do anything extra. Do what you are paid to do and nothing more.

No one and I mean no one at dxc should show the company any loyalty. You are just a number to them and they clearly treat you as such. They will tell you that their employees are up there along side customers - you are not, they are lying.

No one and I mean no one at dxc should give a cr-p about anything HR spouts as they are not a human resources team. The words human mean nothing to them, remember you are just a number.
