Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Are there any disadvantages to taking PIL

I expect to get PIP’d in a couple of weeks. Are there any disadvantages of taking PIL and retiring vs simply retiring?

Does taking PIL affect retirement status or any retirement benefits?

@ak Team? There are no "teams" at ExxonMobil. It's everyone for themselves.

Once again, the reason we see so many July 1 retirements and resignations is that executive career decisions are made in December. They either grant execs their bonuses or tell them they are done and must be off the payroll by July 1 of the following year. Highly paid execs don’t have as much latitude to hang on to a moribund career as non-execs do.

@ak It doesn't work like that no one volunteers for NSI.They want to come back as consultants/contractors Take one for team?!!! Are you even familiar for EM culture or lack thereof?

Amazing how many Retirement announcements in the past couple of months. Those retirees could have waited a few weeks, received 3 months free salary, and taken one for the team by being a NSI Vokunteer in the EM Hunger Games.

Essentially free 3 months salary at the end of which you will retire just as you normally would.
