No one is 'happy' about this. My H1B and foreign-born colleagues are fantastic individuals, crazy-smart, and hard-working people, just as horrified at what has happened as we all are. We are all just trying to survive. The sad thing is that upper Mgt will never see consequences for their disastrously bad decisions and cluelessness until things crater really badly. They will bail with their golden parachutes when things become fully unsustainable. They are destroying this company through their incompetence and frantic attempts to do something, anything, absent an actual clue as to what is important.
This is also very recent: it came in with the new management. Hopefully a change there would fix things, though breaking things is always much faster and easier than building something up.
We need managers with actual understanding of the relevant aspects of our jobs: what is a good goal, cwhat we do, what we need to do that, how to measure success. They need to stop doing stuff for the mere sake of needing to do something to appear like they are relevant. "Don't just do something... Stand there" would be an improvement.
