Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Severance Pay Question

Does anyone have more information about the current severance pay rules and if it differs from what they were traditionally allocating?

When there were layoffs in 2023 people were notified in October giving the a few weeks to transfer current work to others. They went on Admin leave in November and their last day was in January 2024. Seems like the same pattern is going on.

@ak go into MyHR or the HR portal. (Whatever it’s called) and search for “severance.”

The posted “old” severance policy is the current policy they must follow.

I think it’s 2 weeks pay per years of service up to a max or 32 weeks.

Plus, since Walgreens didn’t file a WARN notice, laid off team members will be on payroll for 2 months before severance kicks in.

Finally, payout of the bonus is a must as long as you quit or get laid off post 8/31.

@a4 I don't know when they'd get paid out, but I heard the communication team who got laid off today got severance and their yearly bonus

@a3 meaning they will get bonus paid out in November despite being laid off? Or is this a different kind of bonus
