Director level and above must go into the office at least 3x/week by July 14th unless considered virtual.

Office capacity in my location is being cut by 2/3. Probably will offshore more jobs to make it work.

Hmm last year I heard a rumor that here in CA they were thinking of reopening one of the offices in Thousand Oaks. I automatically thought it was due to forcing even more people back to the office.

If they wanted us to RTO, it should have been much, much sooner. Don’t get me wrong - I didn’t want to RTO in 2022, but pulling the rug out after five + years after we’ve adjusted our lives around WFH is out of touch and di-kish.

What if there aren’t enough seats? Why are they doing this?

Disconnecting your home desk to pack up everything, drive in to find your reserved seat. Unpack & reconfigure the whole chair at reserved seat (or just sit on the end all day from not being able to fix it), bright lights, cameras, no soap in bathroom, sound echoing from every floor in the building. To be told to wear headphones all day. Not productive

Leaders are so d-mb. I can just as easily do nothing in the office. Being in an office doesn’t make you more productive. I can just sit at a desk and wiggle the mouse every few minutes. People have been doing nothing in the office for years. Like Staff VP.

If RTO is mandated to the degree people think - it will back fire. People who can leave will leave. For myself I will be blowing up my Directors phone "can't get a seat, they say they don't have my reservation - I don't have anywhere to work, I can't get a connection"- then I will be sure to be on calls where the loudest people are so I can say "I can't hear you , what what, " and I plan on eating stinky food at my desk and leaving a mess on the regular - treat me like I am trash, I will act accordingly.

It’s Gloria McCarthy who’s sits on the board I believe. She can’t even retire properly. All these old a-s mutherfickers that can’t let the younger generation take the reins.

Does Gail have a vendetta against WFH in general?

Ummm, welcome to 2024! Most departments have already slashed workers who can’t drive into a hub 3 days a week. Start looking fast if you’re outside those regions!

I’ve been suspecting this for some time. I have not heard rumors but 100% expect it to happen, increasing to 3-4 days in office. One day is not helpful, people go in for a short period of time, they don’t overlap with their teammates if they’re even in the same office, and no collaboration is even possible. And increasing this requirement will be devastating to everyone. It’s been a horrible morale drain and major time su*k. The whole situation is awful.

It makes me sad to read these posts. How can a company be so evil and cause so much harm to people. I've never seen anything like this. This company is the poster child for all that is wrong in the world. So sad.

My husband always told me - if you have to go in, do your 40 and don’t log in early/late/weekends anymore

Another layer of obstacles. Mentally exhausting for those of us that work 80+ hours already with no OT. To have to worry about working those in an office where you can't be productive.

Trust God is all I can say. This is torture… would not work for my mental health. There is light at the end of the tunnel and gold at the end of the rainbow. 😎

Difficult to book a seat. If your team is there it’s difficult to sit together. And the moonscape sound track is becoming very problematic. The constant sound of rushing water is far from relaxing and improving anyone’s mental wellbeing.

Well that makes sense. Announce it after the employee survey has been completed. Definitely not before. How do I get an assigned seat in the back next to a window please away from chatty Cathy and smelly Sam?

It'll su-k for those still working for EH. Good luck to those having to pick up the pieces. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side.

Ugh. Not looking forward to this at all. Going to be like Hunger Games for workspaces. I don’t work with anyone in the office I go to. How that doesn’t mean I’ll be riffed this summer.

By the time they are done with all the layoffs there will be plenty of office chairs available for those that are left to pick up all the work using all the antiquated technology provided.

@an+1jrznrr5q all great questions, no idea. But this RTO is also supposed to coincide with another massive re-org this summer, so who knows.

So what about people who don’t live near a PulsePoint? Will they be riffed? I heard they aren’t hiring anyone who can’t come to PulsePoint and anyone who is is no longer eligible for transfers or promotions. Is this true? Can anyone in the know weigh in?

@ak+1jrznrr5q Where is everyone going to sit? Where is the space to accommodate a full fledged RTO? There aren't enough desks now. Is everyone going to have their own, assigned cubicle again?

This is 100% correct. The longer term plan is 5 days per week by Q4 or early 2026.

3 days a week is the new normal. Sorry to say, but the HR person is correct.

My guess is, they will only force the people back into the office that frequently that they want forced out, so they don't have to rif them and pay out Supp. My location doesn't have enough seats to force 300 people back in three days a week.

How are they going to manage bringing back everyone 3 days a week, when many of the building spaces have been remodeled to have LESS seating.

Sadly yes....100% true. In HR and can confirm. 3 days a week is what i have been hearing, although I don't know the exact timing.
