Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Scaling back on FOW mandates?

Apparently this only currently applies to Enterprise Ops, but we were told last week that they are "revising the FOW ("in-person presence") approach. Apparently the are going to focus solely on 5 main locations (Bloomfield, Denver, St Louis, Chattanooga, and Scottsdale), and if you do not live within 50 miles of one of those locations (and are a B1-B5), you will rebranded as WAH.
Apparently it has become difficult to fill B4 & B5 roles, and there are "limited opportunities" for in-person collaboration since the workforce is scattered amongst numerous locations.
I mean, we could have told you that a year ago. But I'll take some good news!

I'm assuming they are referring to the comments below about receiving moving boxes with a very vague communication to hold on to them for further instruction. Guessing they are wondering what the further instructions might be as it was over 3 weeks ago they received the.

"Any updates on these boxes and communication?"

You've asked the question twice. What the heck does "these boxes" mean?

I was the poster of @ajhu+1vdvy686, about taking PTO on shackle days. After just one week, I'm now being asked to convert these to half-days (which apparently qualify for wfh) to avoid impacts on work output.

Not sure I'm feeling that. Maybe we need some failures to demonstrate the consequences of inflexible in-office mandates.

If I knuckle under and get it all done, what motivation is there for future improvement?

I am in one of the main locations, and just received a "reminder" from leadership about lack of time spent in-office, where I work alone and do no collaboration.

Fortunately for me, I had enough PTO to take off every Tue and Wed through the rest of the year. Not my first choice on how to use the time, and there is a decent chance that work efforts will falter in the interim. Oh well.

I think the articles on IRIS regarding Cigna and HCSC office have been removed.. I tried accessing the link that I saved yesterday, and it gave me an error. Were those accidentally posted?

Mission Impossible vibes! What are they doing with all this secrecy?? This is a new level.

Packing and moving boxes were sent out to several offices across the enterprise. 10/29/24 We received an email from Lisa Osborne, Change Leader, Global Workforce. She said, "moving and packing boxes have been or will be delivered to your attention. Please hold them for further instruction. A communication is scheduled for distribution early next week. If you have questions, please let me know."

Is there anything posted on IRIS or anywhere regarding this? I am outside of the 5 cities and trying to determine whether I will need to buy a vehicle in the coming months.

If I still have to go into the office come the new year, I'll need it but not if working from home.

There isn't enough room in Franklin to handle everyone who is non MA, let alone why bother if they're doing this five city "hub" idea.

Did you all not read the original post? I don't think anyone outside those 5 cities will be reassigned anywhere.

@2hnw+1vdvy686. I imagine non-MA will be transitioned to the Brentwood office which then puts me just 2 miles shy of being out of range and having to traverse across town with traffic instead of against it. Not gonna be a happy camper.

“ What will happen to the non MA employees at the Nashville office?”

They will likely be assigned to the Franklin/Cool Springs office with a no desk designation.

I’m wondering how the non-MA folks in those markets will be viewed when it comes to internal roles.
Will they be eligible for any role within the company, or will they only be eligible for remote openings?
Will hiring managers be given the flexibility to hire those candidates for hybrid roles?

Non MA employees will go back to working from home and be in person no seat assigned until Cigna evaluates real estate.

The Houston office is not necessarily moving with HCSC. The current floors are staying with Cigna and future HCSC employees will move to a different floor.

"Alabama, great circle in Nashville, and Houston"

So I guess if you are a MA employee transitioning to HCSC near one of these offices, your likely to be assigned to work from one of them post transition.

This should honestly make MA folks feel better about their future.

HCSC isn’t buying that huge Nashville property just to let it sit empty, and Nashville will provide plenty of tax incentives to bring in folks.

On iris there is a list of offices going to HCSC vs staying with Cigna."

Where exactly is this list?

I searched something like “HCSC office” and found it linked in an email (posted on iris) sent to those who’s office status was changing

Same for Morris Plains NJ

Same for St Louis as well

On iris there is a list of offices going to HCSC vs staying with Cigna. But the list of offices staying with Cigna included most of them. Much longer than the list in the OP

From Leadership (meeting). Apparently there will be a formal communication coming somewhere in the next couple weeks.

Oh fab. Lots of poor schlubs in those 5 cities who aren't in with their teammates and experience limited opportunities for in-person collaboration.

Still forced in 3 days a week, though.

Wouldn't be Cigna without a botched fix to a self-created issue.

I wonder why it’s just enterprise Ops. Our department (account management) is struggling as well specifically with band 4 and 5. We’ve had people in other departments deemed WAH interview and be offered the role, then back out once they realize they will be assigned to an office.
